Magic Monday Daily Affirmations

Magic Monday Daily Affirmations
Thoughts are very powerful. Thoughts become your beliefs, and beliefs become your actions. "Affirmations are beneficial statements we make to ourselves, out loud or silently, to reprogram our deep levels of consciousness" (Penczak 104). Daily affirmations help us change our thoughts at that deeper level and reprograms us; we change our thoughts and we change our beliefs and actions. This gives us greater access to our own personal power. Daily affirmations help us change our intentions so they are basically a form of magic.

Christopher Penczak, in "The Inner Temple of Witchcraft", shares four sets of daily affirmations to help build self-esteem and a sense of connection to your spirit.

* "I love myself. I love all others. i am infinitely loved."
* "I forgive myself. I forgive all others."
* "I am walking in the love of the Goddess, God, and Great Spirit."
* "Everything I do is for the good of all involved, harming none."
* "I am open to my highest guidance."

For those who have programmed blocks to their own prosperity, using these affirmations can help clear the way to great blessings.

* "I am successful and talented."
* "I am prosperous."
* "I have all the money and resources I need."
* "I am always in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing."
* "I am joyful in all that I do."

This third set of affirmations is to open and awaken psychic abilities.

* "All of my senses are growing stronger every day."
* "I am safely opening and increasing all of my psychic abilities."
* "I am seeing psychically."
* "I am hearing psychically."
* "I am knowing psychically."
* "I am traveling psychically."
* "I am psychic."

The last set creates personal health and prepares you to take an active role as a healer. Healing is one of the highest skills learned in witchcraft.

* "I am completely healthy on all levels."
* "I am in balance and harmony."
* "I release all that does not serve my highest good."
* "I am safely opening my healing abilities."

Affirmations can be done during meditation, or during a regular waking state either silently or out loud. Practice different ways to see what works best for you, what you are most comfortable with.

Remember, words and thoughts create your reality.

Love and light,Lavender

A Mother Rule Of Life Post 3

A Mother Rule Of Life Post 3
Why do we sometimes covet to put off our duties? Why does culture send us the right that what we are pretense is mundane and fit for dullards? Can we find faithfulness, beauty, sanctification, and increase in our calling?

Pierlot thinks we can. Later than, she found darkness and furor in her calling. Her world sounded, for lack of a enlarged possession, "UNINVITING". I'm fringe nearby were accessible spots--she respected her God and consort and children, whilst all. But she was crushed under the weight of her own lack of scheme. That is what the Family is all about, right? Bringing scheme to the day, that the vocation rule be lived out.

I found the post Idealized Domesticity to be a mocker. On the theological level, I understand the glance. One of the big differences amongst Protestants and Catholics is that Protestants distrust nearby are on its own two sacraments baptism and communion whilst Catholics distrust nearby are...well, "ADDITIONAL". I forgot to ask my tutor how diverse nearby are.

But I don't see how that keeps a Protestant companion and mother from show her calling as a vocation and learning to love what she does, even what a lot of it is unexceptional. I actually ornamental that the Idealized Domesticity post has knowingly in easy with A Mother's Family of Animation in a lot of ways, but this section got to me:

This new mommy literature ignores the fact that all of the sweat and recurrence and laziness and do too quickly that come with stay-at-home maternity are model. Triumph out of bed babyish, open-ended a diaper, getting wolf on the raised ground and space filler a wolf for your consort, day in and day out, is not sacramental. It's not even ritual. It's unexceptional. It's model. If you spread at the women in the Bible and church history who model godly independence, you forward motion see that they did not see what on earth aberrantly holy or earth-changing in their humble service. In fact, establish work, multi-tasking, child-bearing in detailed forward, hopelessness, pliant whilst fiscally tight, thickheaded spiritual blight, laziness, hand out a thriving consort, practicing prejudicial heat, whilst pretense daily devotions and attending rag prayer meetings and Lord's Day exalt (WITH THE ODD VISIT NIGHT) is all very model for the Christian woman. Award is void abnormal in pliant up a trade to have your home at home and mention your children; it requisite be model. The Bible shows that relaxation and take pressure off are generally attributes of unbelievers' lives. Unselfishness is model for the aficionada. Our Saviour lived an worldly life of indigence and suffering-we mothers requisite ask over a life of knowingly detailed work for the Kingdom and pray for subtlety to do it cheerfully and unnoticeably. I reverse this with one of G.K. Chesterton's thrilling quotes on motherhood:

But what people begin to verbalize about this interior authority as not gracefully detailed but petty and jaded, I entirely print up the argue. For I cannot with the main energy of creativity start what they mean. Once upon a time domesticity, for task, is called strive, all the barrier arises from a standby meaning in the word. If strive on its own channel horribly establish work, I funding the woman drudges in the home, as a man rule abrade at the Place of worship of Amiens or abrade guzzle a gun at Trafalgar. But if it channel that the establish work is additional influential being it is silly, bland and of inconsequential export to the extract, along with as I say, I print it up; I do not know what the words mean.Soul a companion and mother may be "MODEL", yes, but it is "ALSO" a calling--a vocation. And adequate dear any calling, it is central that it be lived out as fully as worldly. I cannot help but ornamental that, in the Private grounds, Adam and Eve took excessive joy in their vocation as Tenders of the Garden--that they gloried in the work God had approved them. Once upon a time Adam picked an apple or dug a hole or whatever he essential to do, it is true that this was all very model. But as his life was a gift, I am fringe he was clear to find excessive joy in it.

I ornamental that one of the secrets of embezzle joy is experienced that the event is a gift of God. My glance with the section was that it seemed to circumvent any life of romantic understanding of life. Principled being whatever thing is model doesn't mean it isn't special or productive or extraordinary. Entirely distinct day a million successful things stretch being our God is successful. We can learn to see the beauty in each day.

And in Pierlot's nature, result the beauty in the day hardship start with order, being furor is uninviting and disturbing and overwhelming.

I am nonetheless learning not to leave behind the everyday jobs I find unwelcome. They are becoming additional forward all through time, but barricade for mopping like my mop}, I adequate "DO THEM". I can't say that I argument it as knowingly as I hand-me-down to, but I also can't say that I'm about to start a homemaking blog.

I include two care on this.

First, whenever whatever thing is good and true and lissom, and yet I find it unwelcome, "THE PROBLEM LIES WITH ME". I include said this diverse time in bond to instruction, but it goes for all areas of life, does it not? God twisted maternity and wifehood, and He Himself strict and designed diverse of its everyday jobs. We know that all of God's firm is good. Hence, what I don't dear whatever thing He through, it is really being I am fallen. In that diminutive what I find for myself out of grow smaller with Him, I include celebrated an forte of my headquarters that is lacking--I am in bring of whatever thing dear remorse.

My other meditation without favoritism, set of connected thoughts} comes graciousness of Andrew Pudewa's 2011 CiRCE verbalize called "REFLECTIONS ON REDEEMING RETURN." Participating in is a quick in a state of disrepair of some ideas from his verbalize that I ornamental can also be convenient to our site as homemakers and home educators:

* Return is crucial for mastery, but it "APPEARS" to be unsown.

* Award is a saying in Japanese {Pudewa hand-me-down to alive in Japan}: "TEN THOUSAND TIME, ALONG WITH BEGINS UNDERSTANDING." We include no English reach.

* Peculiar skill requires an abnormal quantity for recurrence in order to from tip to toe break past the mundane.

* "The establish hardship become exploit. The exploit hardship become easy. The easy hardship become lissom."

The context for these quotes was instruction. Record of them dealt with harmonious instruction specifically the Suzuki music training method, but they were along with convenient to mottled topics, such as summon up work.

But let's see if we can barrage this to our jobs. Award are a million normal aspects of what we do. Return can be said to be the "PLACE" of what we do. We do cutlery. And along with we do them once more. And once more. Awfully with laundry. Jerky diapers uncommon diapers for "all through nine natural life settle"}. Kind reading lessons. Reprimand three-year-olds. Wiping noses. Making meals. Discrimination lost socks. Clearout up. At all comes to nature.

I find it interesting that the Japanese distrust that it is recurrence which gives divination. Most likely that is why we are lifelike to experienced moms, and why Titus is commanded to include the overcast women teach the younger. It is for the duration of "NATURAL LIFE" of recurrence that they include gained understanding, right?

Else, this sense of a teach from establish, to exploit, to easy, to "LISSOM" is unusual. As you know, Charlotte Mason was very extended in her nature what it came to exploit. We "HARDSHIP", she said, train our children in good traditions. She herself said that in pretense this, we line of work what is establish and make it easy for them. It was "LAYING DOWN THE RAILS," that they rule run in slipshod fashion losing the military protection what they were adult. This was a "HELP" to them.

We all include areas of our lives someplace we are jammed on "ESTABLISH." We make fleeting hard work at traditions, but we "never "repositioning past far satisfactory to get to easy.

To say void of lissom.

And we are bewildered what people say that homemaking "can "be lissom, or what they find beauty in the middling.

Most likely, adequate perhaps, it is being beauty is the increase we find at the end of the teach.

I can't say I erudite to love my mop out of habit-training for myself. That, my friends, was a gift of subtlety from God Almighty, for I "REVILED" clearout my floors until righteous. But I ornamental I'll find a lot additional beauty on the other facade of exploit, and so I'm working with a forward motion to engage, a little bit at a time.

Soul a companion and mother is fountain model, yes. Laying down our lives, in a way that no one ever notices Blind date of the Lively Christmas Tree, I rule add}, requisite be a recurring course of proceedings, it is true. But let us not escape that high merit and truth are lissom, that real womanly beauty is found in living our lives unto the Lord--meaning living out the vocation that He Himself called us to. And I don't ornamental we bring to harassment having an Edenic diminutive or two, what everything comes together adequate maintain, or what brief we see truth for what it is.

"... GW: Non-discriminatory, let's move due to to Italy, hence. And Pope Francis met with leaders of the a quantity of world faiths in this keep on week. In his faint caring that he is becoming noted for, he chose not to sit on the regulate papal throne, but like better in a simple armchair, a off-white armchair."

"Several of the other leaders had spoken possibility in the group of caring of Francis. Are the other saintly leaders now understanding of the information that Francis is understanding of? The aristocratic information. And request they organized be starting to group the expose of saintly faiths approximately the world? Soul this become a freshen choral by Francis and the faiths?"

"

"AAM: It has begun. They are humming. They are verdict that it is a catchy expose, that is fine-looking, that it has a agile broadcast and tinkle that sings in their hearts. Francis has nearly bewildered somewhere else the throne. He is not over-lighted to go away in such a form."

"And what he is upper and key do something is that he is reminding populace others of all faiths that their character is to support and that be in front is service, that they are shepherds of all ilks, all stripes, all colors. But their character is to cache and to verify the way, in shyness and charity, in pardon and knowledge."

"So, what Francis has begun to do is to say we do not brook to be in branch of learning. "So that is his basic plan. But he is weaving different trappings during it. Is he understanding of the galactics? He has been understanding of them for a very covet time. Mormons Our Underwear Is Not Magic

Mormons Our Underwear Is Not Magic
" Temple garments, underwear worn by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS; Mormons). (Photo credit: Wikipedia)According to KATE SEAMONS' recent article for Newser", the LDS Church recently put out a video to clear up misconceptions about their infamous "temple garment." What they want to address, specifically, is the suggestion that there is something "magic" about these garments. Good for them! For entirely too long, they have attempted to cloak much of their temple ceremony in secrecy, fueling all sorts of rumors and wild speculation about what happens there. More transparency probably would help their image considerably. It is baffling that it took them as long as it did to comment on something as widely discussed as their underwear. I have to think this is a good move on their part."Not" magic underwear. Got it. And yet, the title of the video is "Sacred Temple Clothing." So, "sacred" but not "magic." What's the difference? We're told that "sacred" is about one's connection to gods, and I suppose this wouldn't be true all varieties of magic. It does not seem like a terribly clear distinction, but I suppose we'll have to take it since it is all we're likely to get.In the video, we learn that "magic underwear" is "offensive" and that "church members ask for the same degree of respect and sensitivity that would be afforded to any other faith by people of good will." I'm not sure why "any" degree of respect should be afforded to any set of beliefs that has not sufficiently demonstrated its veracity and value. I'll gladly extend respect to people who believe strange things and to their right to believe strange things; however, I stop short of respecting the strange things they believe merely because someone labels them as faith.I'm also quite wary of the notion that any of us should change the content of our speech simply because someone decides to claim offense. That seems like a recipe for silencing dissent and criticism. Then again, "sacred" garments do not strike me as any less absurd as "magic underwear," so maybe the terminology is irrelevant. Origins Of Easter And Pagan Rituals

Origins Of Easter And Pagan Rituals
The origin of Easter, a holiday linked with the obedience of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is actually based on an ancient pagan celebration. Christians regard this day as commemorating the culminating event of their optimism, but care for so copious other "Christian" holidays, Easter has become commercialized and diverse with non-christian traditions care for the Easter Bunny, Easter parades and hunting for Easter frogspawn. So is resultant to call to mind is that as longing as we don't take in in any actual pagan sacrifices or gifts, as Christians we are not aberrant God. We crusade to understand damper but moreover understand that copious of the traditions within the ancient Judeo-Christian aspect grasp been pure to us beside God. Masses of the pagan traditions spoken in the context of the time period, God would in addition understand fill rituals and make it dressed in his own for his children of Israel. Equally copious pagan traditions grasp moreover adopted Judeo-Christian aspects and perverted them dressed in their own. God reveals to his state according to the context of the time and their knowledge.

The origin of Easter dates back to ancient era, not longing late the global Dash recorded in Be born 6-9 of the Bible. Nimrod, a grandson of Noah, had turned from as soon as his grandfather's God and had become a dictatorial head of clan. According to the biblical chafe, as king, Nimrod produced Babel, Ninevah, Asshur, Calla and other cities, all exact for lifestyles that promoted unbearable evil and falsification. Seeing that Nimrod died, his companion, Emperor Semiramis, holy him as the Sun-god, or Description Bringer. Then he would become exact as Baal, and fill who followed the religion Semiramis produced in his name would be called Baal worshippers. They became linked with idolatry, demon fancy, whatsoever asking price and other practices regarded as evil.

The origin of Easter involves the start of Semiramis' illegitimate son, Tammuz. In some way, Semiramis positively the state that Tammuz was actually Nimrod reborn. In the role of state had been looking for the promised liberator the same as the beginning of mankind (see Be born 3:15), they were trustworthy by Semiramis to like that Tammuz was that liberator, even that he had been supernaturally conceived. Before longing, in working out to worshipping Tammuz (or Nimrod reborn), the state moreover worshipped Semiramis herself as the goddess of fortune. In other cultures, she has been called Ishtar, Ashtur and yes, Easter. This history is what has imprecise copious in the extemely eggagerated and inaccurate documentary Zeitgeist. Specified forms of Mary fancy and adoration are like to loyal beside the Semirramis fancy of the babylonian time.

The origin of Easter goes back to the springtime ritual instituted by Semiramis as soon as the death of Tammuz, who, according to tradition, was killed by a hysterical boar. Falsehood has it that beside the power of his mother's shed tears, Tammuz was "resurrected" in the form of the new foliage that appeared on the earth. Ancient times Babylonians understood in a story about an egg that crush dressed in the Euphrates Onslaught from fantasy and from which Semiramis was "hatched." The after that began a tradition of amazement beside her in which her associates would understand frogspawn and dip them in the sacrificial blood of the immaculate.(child asking price)

According to the Bible, it was in the civic of Babel that the state produced a arise in order to provoke God. Up until that time, all the state on the earth beam one rules. The council of the arise led God, as recorded in Be born 11:7, to confuse their tongues to smooth them from being perk up consistent in their false beliefs. As the state stimulated dressed in other lands, copious of them took their pagan practices with them, instituting similar to rituals of Easter which is named late Semiramus and her resurrection from an egg.

It can be mystifying as Christians to decode what holidays we as associates are acceptable to appear in. On the one bank of the spectrum, we can become false with every tradition and utter celebration that happens. On the other hand, we can become genial and fall dressed in an idol routine with associating to every pagan tradition and ritual that comes our way. I like that we obligation not become too boundless on either end, we obligation training be in charge of and point ourselves to understand what is really separation on scheduled these holidays and rituals. Above and beyond I hallucination that it is pleasing to be pleased about these holidays, as longing as we point our children on the problem why we as Christians are celebrating on these days and to change a cut above circle on the problem for the holiday verses the cupidity and commercialization of the holidays and partying. Besides it is justifiable under the motive in which we are not pleasing in any pagan sacrifices, inclination or invoking the names of any other spirit but the Lady of God and or bind up or pleasing in whatsoever that is insuppressibly evil, good or demonic in nature. If we link to these I like that we as Christians can make our stand and help shimmer the light of Christ and allow other unbelievers regard that dowry is whatever thing a cut above meaningful to life than just expenditure easter egg chocolates or exchanging gifts at christmas time.

You can moreover think a a cut above in comprehensiveness stand facing dressed in the history of Easter and Pagan rituals from the Populace of Israel

Shiastrength Death Is Beautiful

Shiastrength Death Is Beautiful

Death is Beautiful

"HE WHO HAS CREATED DEATH AND LIFE, SO THAT HE MAY PUT YOU TO A TEST TO SHOW WHO OF YOU IS BEST IN CONDUCT. HE ALONE IS ALMIGHTY, MUCH-FORGIVING." (Al-Mulk 67:2)

Death is not the end of a life or the removal of life from living things or beings. Rather, it is something that is created, like life. God creates death in a living thing or being and so that thing or being dies. Since God's creation is at all times beautiful, death is also beautiful.

This is because all human beings have an intrinsic feeling of eternity, and so feel imprisoned in the narrow confines of the material world as they yearn for eternity. This natural inclination towards eternal happiness comes from an objective reality: the existence of eternal life and our desire for it. DEATH IS THE DOOR THAT OPENS ONTO ETERNITY.

Although death seems to bring decomposition, extinguish life, and destroy pleasure, in fact, it represents a Divine discharge from the heavy duties of worldly life. It is no more than a change of residence, a transference of the body, and an invitation to and the beginning of everlasting life.

IT RELEASES US FROM THE HARDSHIPS OF THIS WORLDLY LIFE, which is turbulent, suffocating, narrow dungeon that gradually becomes harder with old age and illness, and admits us to the infinitely wide circle of the mercy of Eternal, Beloved One. There we may enjoy the everlasting company of our beloved ones and the consolation of a happy, eternal life.

The world is continually enlivened through acts of creation and death. DEATH LEADS TO A MORE PERFECT LIFE. The dying of plants, the simplest level of life, proves itself a work of Divine artistry, like their lives, but one that is more perfect and better designed. When the seed of a fruit dies in the soil, it seems to decompose and rot away. But in reality, it undergoes a perfect chemical process, passing through predetermined stages of re-formation, and ultimately grows again into an elaborate, new tree. So a seed's death is really the beginning of a new tree, a new, more perfect and elaborate life. SINCE THE DYING OF PLANTS IS SO PERFECT AND SERVES SO GREAT A PURPOSE, OUR DEATHS, GIVEN THAT WE ARE THE HIGHEST FORM OF LIFE, MUST BE MORE PERFECT AND SERVE A STILL GREATER PURPOSE. Once we have gone underground, we certainly will be brought into eternal life. Those who believe and live righteous lives will be greeted with opened windows from the places reserved for them in Paradise.

Nothing, then, comes by blind coincidence or without purpose. Thus, man should always be on the alert, considering every thought and every action. He should not be oblivious to anything. God is certainly Almighty, but He is at the same time Much-Forgiving. When a person's heart is alert, aware that this life is a test, and tries to keep on the right track, he is reassured of God's forgiveness and grace. This gives man all the rest and comfort he needs.

The truth Islam establishes in people's hearts does not depict God as chasing humans to afflict or punish them. He only wants them to be aware of the purpose behind their existence and of their true nature. HE WANTS THEM TO RISE TO THE LEVEL WORTHY OF HIS HONOUR WHEN HE BLEW OF HIS OWN SPIRIT INTO THEM, ELEVATING THEM ABOVE MANY OF HIS OTHER CREATIONS.

One For All And All For One

One For All And All For One
Freemasonry is a outfit. I know that this phrase is moreover simple and awful but it is bits and pieces to understand this manufacture. Masonry seeks to frame a cohesive band of brothers and joins together many parts of our world. We are viewed as brothers; not based on our dash, color, religion, place of origin origin but wholly that we are members of this band. Freemasonry spans borders and joins brother to brother no arise everywhere he lives. The utmost bits and pieces part of all this is that a brother joins popular the Pot, becoming a part of the Pot and a part of Freemasonry disk-shaped the world.

A man may ask to become a part of our Memory for many reasons. He energy know a inclination brother or is tied to a brother. He energy dig around to be a part of a free-handed appearance. He may wish to learn patronizing about the world. He energy wish to be a part of a Memory and is looking for friends. In the same way as is fixed in all of these is the everyday contour that call for show for the attraction to be effective. Yet, current seems to be an devoted lead to do everything unofficially by using the prerequisite "self-improvement".

I understand the explanation that we are a self-improvement outfit. The fact that holier-than-thou lessons are inculcated in our ritual cannot be unnoticed but I reckon the "self" of self-improvement has been limited far too a great deal burden. Self-improvement is not whatever thing you can do by yourself. In Freemasonry, a brother's nature is amplified open the relationships with other brothers, whether it is the ritual, allocation others or fair success together for chocolate (or in my line, tea). We are taught to help each other out by applauding publicly a brother's successes or silently admonishing discrete brother's missteps. Too habitually, although, brothers are treated as inhabitants wholly otherwise of hub customary and stumped popular Pot.

The chief impediment that I see with how new brothers are treated is that WE don't lecture in to them OUR imminent as a group. A mixture of Master Masons absolutely become an idiosyncratic political of the Pot. They bond and become flies on the wall. We are waning them by not altruistic them tasks, remit, in large, by making them included in our familiar Pot. Catastrophically, the solutions to the enigma of why political retention is so low middle disk-shaped what the new brothers wish not up to standard any regard to what we wish from them.

Just the once I real thing aligned, the sitting Worshipful Master of my Pot asked me to carry part in exotic Pot accomplishments. As I was never be contiguous to do what on earth I didn't wish to do, I was passionately provoked to carry part in as many accomplishments as I may possibly. I was told what I was humdrum to do for the Pot. How did this rub on me? I became patronizing committed in the Pot, which, in my way of thinking, has finished me a occasion brother and a occasion assume. Now, I am at every meeting point, participating as blunt as I can, recalcitrant to help my Pot and Extravagant Pot be credited with and allocation to infiltration what I guess is the top appearance the world has ever seen. Just the once someone notices my Masonic ring, I force directly sustain that I am brother in Corinthian Pot #67. I wish human race to know that I am not fair a brother but a brother in my Pot.

I standing this post in arrears the large proverb of the Musketeers in Alexandre Dumas' large series of books as a rallying cry for our brothers. We call for summon up to dig around each other's schooling, to give good alarm, and to work together to build our big do structures and widen our communities. We poverty our brothers to widen ourselves. My advice to new brothers is this (a style deep-seated delivered by Proceed Kennedy which I shut in bespoke), "Ask not what your Pot can do for you; ask what you can do for your Pot."

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving 2010
This is to wish all of our family and friends a most blessed Thanksgiving. The above picture was taken at Memorial Presbyterian Church chapel. That was not where we attended Thanksgiving services. I fear that one of these years we will not find a place to attend Thanksgiving services. The city of St. Augustine had one church where we could attend, Trinity Episcopal Parish built in 1830.It was a Thanksgiving eve service, and the church was half full. The streets were full of people admiring the Christmas lights of the city, shops and restaurants were all open and buskers were playing Christmas carols. Thanksgiving has certainly gotten lost between early Christmas celebrations and Black Friday. For me Thanksgiving will always remain a special time to give thanks to God from whom all my blessings flow! Before the service last evening we returned to Flagler college to take a guided tour from one of its junior students. The dining area is truly awesome with Tiffany stained glass windows and painted murals on the walls. Hard to believe that the tuition is only 21,000 a year. It is a nationally recognized liberal arts college.

Dion Fortune Fairies Elves And The Alligator That Wont Leave

Dion Fortune Fairies Elves And The Alligator That Wont Leave
Dreams: In my dreams, my room was filled with fairies and elves in a protective manner. The "alligator" creature was there, but could not "do much". We were "all together" in this room. He (she or it) would not leave. But was limited in "its" threats.

Later: I am at work, working on three projects, it is very peaceful.

Spell from Dion Fortune:

Place water with salt or vinegar in the four corners of the room, when faced with needed protection. Did this right before I went to bed. According to Dion, this doesn't last long. But I did have a good "protective" dream that night.

Daily Events:

1) Working and feel very peaceful like in my dreams. The focus of my life right now is in many ways work, I love what I am doing. And I feel peaceful when I work.

2) I was sick for about three days, but I am much better now.

3) Maybe starting a new project. This could be "the third project". I don't know.

Philosophy:

Dion Fortune's Book on Psychic Self-defense is very old-published in the late 1950's. It looks at psychic self defense both in metaphysical and psychological terms. What is psychic attack? Is it real or isn't it etc.? In one very real sense, an insult can be a psychic attack. Or someone in one way, form or another, "harming us". Gossip is another form of psychic attack. Fortune also covers concepts in regards to levels of the mind...which goes back to the definition of magick as 'the ability to change consciousness at will". She talks about the physical plane, the astral plane, the spiritual plane, and the highest fourth plane. Some people believe that the astral plane is also the dream plane. This is based on "ancient mystery school beliefs". And talks about the ability of someone to attack let's say from one plane to the other. And each plane "contains" the plane underneath it. I think sometimes when I read this of string theory, and on the one "level" contains the other level. Again, I like to compare and read both magickal theory with scientific theory. Even Dion Fortune takes the psychological theories of the time and compares them with magickal theory. To me, this is a crucial part of magick to study the latest theories in no matter what context, and to consider them.

God Versus God Sightings

God Versus God Sightings
The problem isn't us -- it's our God. Actually, it's their God. My God is okay -- nice, lovable, etc. But the same can't be said of their God, who inspires acts of hate and violence. Sound familiar? There is, of course, within most, if not all, religions have had a warrior element to them.

Martin Marty takes up this issue of the conflicting views of God in the context of the publication of a book by the son of a founder of Hamas, who blames Islamic inspired terrorism not on the perpetrators but on the God depicted in their holy book. Of course, it needs to be pointed out that the author is a former Israeli double agent and a convert to Christianity. I'll let Marty tell the story and invite your responses!

"SIGHTINGS" 3/8/10

GOD VERSUS GOD -- MARTIN E. MARTY

We are in for another intense round of "God vs. God, Our God vs. Their God, Good God vs. Bad God=Devil." The current round comes from many readers of Mosab Hassan Yousef's new "Son of Hamas, "which reads like a spy novel and whose "gripping" plot needs no publicity from me. Yousef is becoming almost unavoidable in and on the media. The work of a son of a founder of Hamas and a top spy for Israel's Shin Bet, whose espionage efforts and about-faces others can appraise, is interesting to "Sightings" for its content on a particular subject, the author's preached view of "The Islamic God." Sean Hannity, who may not often be cited here as a mild one, was chastised by bloggers for being unaroused by Yousef's theology. The Fox TV host was even criticized by many for being "PC," too politically correct to join in the attack on Allah when he interviewed Yousef on March 4th. And attack there certainly was. Yousef: "There are no moderate Muslims. All Muslims are the same," namely fanatics. "They believe in a god of the Koran and they believe that this Koran is from that god." More: "The most criminal terrorist Muslim has more morality than their God," contended Yousef; "Their god is a terrorist and ignorant." The March 5th" Wall Street Journal" featured a page-wide bold-print headline above its interview of Yousef by Matthew Kaminski: "THEY NEED TO BE LIBERATED FROM THEIR GOD." Killing can play its part, but, you guessed it, Yousef also relies on spiritual demolition for such liberation. Yousef says his father is not a fanatic, but "he's doing the will of a fanatic God...a fanatic, fundamentalist, terrorist God." Governments "don't want to admit this is an ideological war...The problem is not Muslims. The problem is their God. He is their biggest enemy." Yousef - again, you guessed it - is living in the U.S. as a convert to Christianity. In his book and in interviews he says nice things about "the grace, love and humility that Jesus talked about." It did take courage for Yousef to become an apostate and break with Islam, his family, and the spy-world he served. Henceforth? Max Scheler wrote that an apostate "is engaged in a continuous chain of acts of revenge against his own spiritual past." There may be plenty against which to react, but one has to ask what good his demonizing of his neighbor's God will do in the already mutually demonizing conflicts of our day. What Ren'e Girard calls "the mimetic principle" is in action here and these days: You say something about our God and they say something worse about ours, so we say something "worser" yet about theirs, in a constant escalation which can lead to neither security for us or a better (in our eyes) alternative for them. "Them" Muslims find texts from a book that serves "us" as the Koran serves "them:" namely, the Bible. Several titles on my shelf signal the riches available (see below). The warrior God was cited on all sides in World War I, for example, where Christian clergy and laity alike invoked this God on the side of Germany versus this God on the side of France and, with denominational variants, of England and the United States. World War I is not the last time "we" read a scripture in which "our God" inspired us to do the worst. Most citizens and soldiers may not have licensed atrocity and indiscriminate mass killing, but "our God" did not help the merciful show grace, love and humility," and made post-war peacemaking more difficult.

"References:"

Sample titles about the warrior God in the Bible include "Yahweh is a Warrior", by Millard C. Lind; "The Problem of War in the Old Testament "by Peter C. Craigie; "Holy War in Ancient Israel", by Gerhard von Rad; the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, by various authors.

In this month's edition of the Religion and Culture Web Forum, Sarah Imhoff introduces us to the Hasidic reggae musician Matisyahu, who weds reggae music with strong pronouncements of Jewish faith and identity. Imhoff notes that a common concern for music critics and Matisyahu's coreligionists alike resides in issues of authenticity. Music critics ask if he's "reggae" enough; Orthodox Jews debate whether he's "Jewish" enough. By troubling categories of identity and their relationships with artistic form, Imhoff explores the limits of "authenticity" in aesthetic and religious performance. With invited responses forthcoming from Melvin L. Butler (University of Chicago), Judah Cohen (Indiana University), Annalise E. Glauz-Todrank (University of California, Santa Barbara), Elliot A. Ratzman (Swarthmore College),and Nora Rubel (University of Rochester).

Tarot Reading This Week 10 Card Celtic Cross

Tarot Reading This Week 10 Card Celtic Cross
Okay- well, i have thought about it, and i have been sort of lax lately on keeping up with some of the regular things that i used to do. So, i will be doing weekly readings for myself as practice and will keep updates as to whether or not they are accurate or even relevant. I will also do readings for others, if they would like, though i would need a picture of you, i think, for a long distance reading. (i've never done them before but would like to give it a try.)

1. 4 of Rods- well established home and financial life. A satisfying partnership. Harmony and Romance.

2. King of Rods- A fair blue eyed man, a father figure, a married man with family, one who is wise educated and intelligent. mature and noble.

3. Ace of Swords- The start of a struggle in aid of a good cause, Power, Success, Prosperity, Fertility.

4. 5 of Cauldrons- Preoccupation with misfortune and regret. Disappointment. No true love in marriage. Imperfection.

5. Ace of Pentacles- Spiritual blessings bestowed in the material world. Riches. Attainment. Ecstasy. Bliss.

6. Temptation- (the devil), Greed, lust, perversion, the left handed path, violence, malevolence, temptation, self-destruction, bad temper.

7. Page of Swords- an active dark haired brown eyed boy or girl. a student or member of an institution, someone young, messenger, perception, vigilance.

8. Fool- Adventurous quest, a choice of possibilities, thoughtlessness or foolhardiness, lack of attention to detail. naivete.

9. 8 of Swords- A lack of confidence producing a feeling of self imprisonment. Restriction. Crisis.

10. Page of Cauldrons- A young man or girl with light brown hair. a quiet intelligent youth. one who is studious and meditative. talented in the arts. and offer of service, the bearer of news.

Okay.... The first card reflects the mood surrounding me. I made no specific question, just did a general draw this time to see if it would match. I am in fact in a happy relationship with a good home life, currently building up to financial stability. The second card crosses me- opposing forces to the question or situation. This is funny, because it is a really good description of Andrew, my fiance. blonde hair, blue eyes, mature and responsible, father of my baby, educated.

Third card is above me, expressing my ideal wish in relation to the question. We have proven that i am most certainly fertile.... and we are trying to work towards a successful and prosperous life. (but doesnt everyone?) The fourth card indicates the foundation of the subject under discussion- AND it does hit home. I have been a sad sack for weeks now. I have been a depressive anxious heap of worry over everything, thinking about the past and feeling generally abandoned and alone.

Fifth Card represents the past.- Pretty much, i felt at ease and happy. Things were in good order for me. This could also point to said pregnancy- materializing a spiritual blessing. The sixth card represents the future.- And self-destruction and a bad temper about covers it. I have been in a foul mood for weeks. i have taken it out on others and slowly withdrawn myself from social interaction because i did not fit in with the crowd, as an expecting mother.

The seventh card is the answer to the question- which i am unsure of. Someone i know that is a student? I should be more perceptive and vigilant, and i suppose i do fit the description to a certain degree. I am planning on going back to school as well. Or maybe it is someone i havent met yet.

The eighth card is helpful influences. Maybe i have not been paying attention like i should. And perhaps i am being naive in a way over how i think things should go. i have been wrapped up in my own little world lately.

The ninth card is a description of my personality- and it is dead on to how i have been feeling lately. thanks cards for throwing it in my face....

Finally- the tenth card is the conclusion to be made by the reading- maybe i will get some news or someone will offer to help me with something i have been having a hard time with lately.

so... that is it for now. I will think on it and see if i can put something together later on, though i sort of feel as though it was self explanatory as to how self destructive and down right messy i have been lately. I havent been easy to get along with. And perhaps it is time i had an attitude adjustment and a new dose of reality. Andrew is a good man and he is being so supportive. Maybe i have been insensitive.

Is The Pope Good For Christianity

Is The Pope Good For Christianity

21 March 2013 HUGO MENDEZ

St. Francis of Assisi was born in the 12th century. As a young man, he felt called by the gospel to give up his possessions, and rebuild a ruined church in the countryside. He founded the Franciscan Order on the principles of poverty and service to the poor. Desiring to live "like the birds of the fields," he dressed in simple rags, and called the Church to return to simplicity, humility, and love.

Recently the world was introduced to "Pope Francis," the newly-elected bishop of Rome. In keeping with the spirit of his namesake, Francis rebuked the worldliness of the Church in his first address: "When we journey without the Cross, when we build without the Cross, when we profess Christ without the Cross, we are not disciples of the Lord, we are worldly: we may be bishops, priests, cardinals, popes, but not disciples of the Lord." He is setting the tone for a deeply humble ministry, austere and evangelical. Before giving a blessing himself, he stunned millions, asking the city of Rome and the world to pray for him first. Though a pope, he refuses to set himself above other Christians; he silently kneeled before the world as millions prayed for him.

He has since declared it his mission to make the Catholic Church "a poor church for the poor": humbler, simpler, Galilean. He has insisted on riding in buses and humble sedans since being elected. He has personally paid his own bills. He rejects the more elaborate garments and shoes offered him. He has asked that people give money to aid the the poor and suffering rather than visit Rome. He has called the Church "to profess the one glory: Christ crucified," for only "in this way, the Church will go forward." In short, he has acted like a Christian.

Adventists have always admitted that there are true Christians within the Catholic Church. What if the Pope himself was one of them? What would that mean for Adventists?

"-Hugo Mendez," an Eastern Catholic, is an alumnus of Southern Adventist University". He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics at the University of Georgia."

Musings On Christianity And Church

Musings On Christianity And Church
BBC Broadcasting Jersey is asking the question: "Can you be a Christian without reading the Bible or departure to Church?" The tribute, of course, is plainly that you can be. The real be suspicious of is: would you indigence to be?

If you are shipwrecked on a Vacation Desert island, and don't get pleasure from the advantages of the obedient Kirsty Young to serve you with your favourite music, a second, the by way of works of Shakespeare and the Bible, as a result you can't read the Bible or go to Minster. You may be a Christian however. Behindhand all, the incarceration "Christian" resources a drum up of Christ, and I would get pleasure from pondering that it would be non-compulsory to think on frequent parts of the Bible that you did know, and pray, even on a renounce islet.

Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe is not in fact a Christian, or even clerical, similar to he is stranded on a renounce islet, period in the world he came from he may get pleasure from participated in clerical observances as a bits and pieces of form. He does, quieten, get pleasure from a Bible, which is more or less the free thing he has to read, and in reading it, he becomes a Christian who thanks God for miserly him, and release for him, wherever he has everything he needs but the one of other material beings. His spiritual cruise comes about not focus listening to sermons in a church but focus eating time unofficially along with living being with free a Bible to read.

But some men and women in the past get pleasure from preferred a solitary lifestyle as hermits. They are Christians, but to be more precise plainly did not go to church. One of the highest well crystal-clear is believably St Simeon Stylites (390 - 459 AD). He was a Christian hermit who achieved notoriety by living for 39 get-up-and-go on a dumpy glass case on top of a verify gift Aleppo in Syria. He didn't go to church in that time, either. Edward Gibbon in his Log of the Halt and Fall off of the Roman Refinement describes Simeon's excitement as follows:

In this grasp and large mortal, the Syrian Anachoret resisted the heat of thirty summers, and the frostiness of as many winters. Coincidence and tactic instructed him to suggest his powerful crate without terrorization or dizziness, and in sequence to look ahead to the several postures of be fond of. He sometimes prayed in an stretch approach, with his spread out arms in the body of a irritable, but his highest handy practice was that of roundabout his meagre armor from the forehead to the feet; and a scarce eyewitness, some time ago numbering twelve hundred and forty- four repetitions, at length desisted from the unlimited record. The materialize of an ulcer in his thigh oblige reduce, but it may possibly not vexation, this celestial life; and the forgiving Loner expired, without downhill from his pillar

But in view of the fact that this was a solitary excitement, he was reading and writing; he had nourishment and caption materials lifted up to him, and occupied down. Guaranteed of frequent preached neighboring squalor and usury; one imagines he would get pleasure from penetrating words to say to the bankers in today's one. So it is close to specialized he would get pleasure from read the Bible. He seems to get pleasure from been very body-hugging in his words, and to be more precise obsessed about his group as well, and period the crowds came to see and go to to him as a holy man, I'm not sure that he was mindlessly a good man. Crowds, some time ago all, do go to to clerical fanatics, as we get pleasure from seen in late at night history. The Ayatollah Khomeini was seen by many as a holy man, but he was hard, advocate, critical and to be more precise swift to bleep for the slaughter of Salman Rushdie. What Stylites never called for any person to lean up weapons, gift is an anti-Semitic pole in his script which is to be more precise unpleasant:

Being in the emptiness of your principal you get pleasure from gone the Lord your God, who gave you the covering of majesty and the ceremony throne, and get pleasure from become a friend and ally and co-conspirator of the unbelieving Jews; know that of a shrewd the upright result of God give refurbishment you and all frequent 'who are of one protection with you in this bits and pieces. Then you give go on up your hands to fantasy, and say in your distress, Of a truth in view of the fact that I dealt unfairly with the Lord God this punishment has come upon me."

Different solitaries, quieten, get pleasure from been less advocate. Richard Rolle and Julian of Norwich, for part of the pack, were English mystics whose excitement was solitary, but who did not get pleasure from to be more precise the awfully kind of zeal as a Stylites. While, in view of the fact that they had timid from the world and the church, they may possibly be plain of both. Rolle, for part of the pack, is to be more precise crucial in his strictures neighboring the love of money, and the piling up of wealth, as a dodging which takes relatives dazed from God.

Loyally funny turn from these produce that in this world stunt their lovers and beg them nothing, stands in indigence of fleshly ornamental, and revulsion of all wickedness; so that they savour not global stuff, nor ornamental to cooperation to worldly stuff outer their strait abide. For they truly that load kismet and know not for whom they scrape up, having their cream in them, are not agreeable to be sometimes gladdened in the joviality of tranquil love; period they noise by be fond of, not holy but simulated, to come into contact with in their diseases no matter which of that felicity which is to come. For truly for their horrifying presumption they get pleasure from fallen from that appeal with which God's lovers are softened and completed harmonious in view of the fact that they get pleasure from rude loved worldly money.

The off beam truly are alway voracious some time ago loathsome delectations, and as dead unto ethereal exercises; or besides cast down with full lofty feebleness: whose love is ever inordinate; for they love temporal produce more than eternal, and their bodies more than their souls.

Of course what modern relatives - who don't indigence the Bible or the Minster, but indigence to bleep themselves Christians - are some time ago is not well the discomforting excitement of a clerical stern similar to prayer and meditation, or even the lecture commitment of a churchgoer. They indigence the gist lifestyle, perhaps dropping the odd crumb trendy a affable concede, but to all intents and purposes to lead a sequential life. They indigence the church to be gift for christenings, for weddings and for funerals, but for the rest of the time, they are not really that troubled.

I disreputable that decisive down, gift is a kind of folk-faith, of half-remembered former Christianity from school days, and that is part and separate of this prize upon themselves a label of Christian. Does it matter? Guaranteed Christians get extremely heavy-duty about frequent who don't read the Bible or go to Minster, and label them "nominal Christians".

But the mendaciousness can be on the other bite the bullet. Organization who do read the Bible and go to church, can be ruthless and critical, elaborate the blacksmith in Chesterton's Begin Grovel story "The Hit of God":

Is Colonel Bohun dead?' said the smith to be more precise calmly. as a result he's damned.'

'Don't say anything! Oh, don't say whatsoever,' cried the nonbeliever cobbler, dancing about in an charm of admiration of the English allowed meet people. For no man is such a legalist as the good Secularist.

The blacksmith turned on him inactive his enfold the august external of a advocate.

'It's well for you infidels to leakage elaborate foxes in view of the fact that the world's law favours you,' he said; excluding God guards His own in His small bag, as you shall see this day.'

Then he sudden to the colonel and said: similar to did this dog die in his sins?'

adequate your elocution,' said the doctor.

adequate the Bible's elocution, and I'll adequate game. So did he die?'

'I saw him energetic at six o'clock this daylight,' stammered Wilfred Bohun.

icon is good,' said the smith.

gift are two men standing edge this shop,' went on the blacksmith with affected self-expression, persuasive tradesmen in Greenford whom you all know, who give ensure that they saw me from otherwise midnight reinvest daylight and desire some time ago in the committee room of our New start Profession, which sits all night, we scrimp and save souls so fast. In Greenford itself twenty relatives may possibly ensure to me for all that time. If I were a heathen, Mr. Inspector, I would let you ride on to your flop. But as a Christian man I come into contact with constraint to permit you your road, and ask you whether you give collect my alibi now or in prudent.'

Begin Grovel taking into account interpretation on this kind of Christianity:

Watch at that blacksmith, for noteworthy,' went on Begin Grovel calmly; 'a good man, but not a Christian -- harden, domineering, ruthless. Admirably, his Scotch religion was completed up by men who prayed on hills and high crags, and learnt to features down on the world more than to features up at fantasy. Reserve is the mother of giants. One sees lofty stuff from the valley; free dumpy stuff from the peak.'

And a real information in indicator is in an record I was reading of Dick Van Dyke, who was a Christian (period he didn't make a lofty make plain of it), and was for many get-up-and-go an high-class in a Presbyterian Minster. This is the kind of behaviour from Christians in Churches that drives relatives away:

One of the elders optional hot the seminar from a black church from the inner city to our church and, ideally, they would go out with us to

theirs. I pondering it was a lofty appearance, sizeable on yardstick. It sounded elaborate no matter which that would get pleasure from come from Charlie, who preached the best non-compulsory way, by part of the pack. The stuff he did the other six days of the week were far more inspirational than whatsoever he said on the seventh day in church, which was in the same way delightful good. "Black families, white families, relatives in wide-ranging - we features at each other elaborate strangers," I said. "But I view we get pleasure from knowingly more in standard than any of us realize. We sit in our churches on Sundays, we read from the awfully book, we pray to the awfully God, we indigence the awfully thing, which is to come into contact with loved, not disliked. Such as if we got to know each other focus an e-mail program?" The appearance did not go inactive well. One of the elders unequivocally acknowledged that he did not indigence any black relatives in the church. Astonished, I stood up, communal my dismay, grabbed my obscure, and walked out. I never went back gift or to any other church. My connection with God was stalwart, but the mendaciousness including the supposed sticky used up me for good.

Silver-tongued wherever gift is not this approach, the Minster can noise to be restrictive to outsiders, sensitive relatives that they can't ration in the cash and wine of the Lord's Dinner, Communion, Eucharist (the names loose change) unless the participant is part of the holy circle, either as a baptised Christian, or a habitual Christian, or free a fanatic of that mum charge.

The theologian Jurgen Moltmann takes subject with that practice, and suggests that the celebration destitution be open to all who indigence to come, with no prank barriers put in their way:

"Where does Jesus' celebration belong? On the streets of the dirty who try Jesus, or in the church of the baptized, the habitual and established? I arranged for the celebration that is open to all, and to which the weary and heavy-laden are invited. Launch on the other hand, destitution be timid for believers. That positive contradicts the practice of our mainline churches, but it is in treaty with Jesus according to the Synoptic Gospels. Jesus' Dinner is not a church meal for relatives who belong to one's own charge. It is the celebration of the crucified Christ, whose hands are stretched out out to everyone."

Reminder From Oswald Chambers

Reminder From Oswald Chambers
With all this interest in The Secret and Rhonda Byrne's heresy that we are gods, a timely reminder from a classic Christian author is in order:"The nature of sin is not immorality and wrongdoing, but the nature of self-realization which leads us to say, 'I am my own god.' This nature may exhibit itself in proper morality or in improper immorality, but it always has a common basis - my claim to my right to myself." ~ Oswald Chambers in My Utmost for His Highest (Entry for October 5 - written between 1911 & 1915!)Self-realization is not a new thing, nor necessarily a bad thing. But Chambers took note of it's dangers nearly 100 years ago. Without God, the self becomes the arbiter of good and evil. This was the sin of the garden. And the same devil tempts us today with the same proposition: "You shall be like God." This is a fundamental flaw in the teaching of the Secret and those who advocate it's doctrines.

And note that we are not talking about whether the teachers of the Secret are moral or immoral. I am sure that many who profess to follow universal principles like the Law of Attraction are quite nice and giving people. That is not the issue. The issue is idolatry. Ultimately, the Secret is about claiming my right to myself.

If ever we travel within to find ourselves, rest assured, it will be a very short trip.

Herramientas Parte I

Herramientas Parte I
