I chose Mawu today because she is also know as "Mother Earth" and Mother's Day is celebrated tomorrow. We all have mothers who birthed us or raised us, and mother figures in our lives, but Mother Earth is the creator of all life and therefore should be celebrated and embraced.
Those of us who consider ourselves witches base our spirituality around Mother Earth and all aspects of nature. We are the stewards of the earth which the goddess calls upon to teach and remind people that we must treat her with respect and live in harmony with her or we will lose her and all of life as we know it.
I pledge that from here on out to find and implement more ways into my life to be earth-friendly, to live in harmony with nature, to raise awareness how human are killing the planet, to teach people how to be earth-friendly, and to seek justice for Mother Earth for she is our Universal Mother.

A journey through the early Major Arcana cards brings us face to face with Magicians, Priestesses, wise guides and teachers. We thought we knew bad times, feeling invincible in the face of dilemmas overcome one by one. It was only a warm up. The greater tests still remain. The Hanged Man reminds us of this. Having to choose between the lesser of several evils is hard enough, but when the Hanged Man appears, it may feel as though choice itself is no longer even a factor. The Hanged Man is suspended from a tree by a rope tied around one ankle. From his outstretched leg he dangles, bound and powerless, while his other leg bends at the knee, foot tucked into the knee of his straight leg like an upside down "4". He is without mobility. The carefree stride of the Fool is stripped from him. In the midst of this dilemma his face betrays no panic, but rather appears serene and contemplative. A halo crowns his head. It is as if the Fool has decided to take advantage of his situation by absorbing as much of the unusual view as he can - and being content with this for the time being. Indeed, he makes it look so easy!
Assuming most people no longer are under threat of hanging we may wonder what type of situation in modern life could parallel that of this unfortunate man. Is he being punished for a crime or as a traitor? In that case, we may assume, he is deserving of his fate! Have enemies conspired against the Fool so that he can be hung out to dry as a scapegoat? Perhaps then, he is an undeserving victim. The key to the Hanged Man's situation is powerlessness, the lack of mobility and lack of ability to effect change to one's surroundings. This is not for lack of trying.
The Hanged Man represents a significant event that leaves one in a state of inertia and inability. In modern day this can be likened to being physically limited suddenly by an illness or injury, or a prolonged experience of life being "on hold" in spite of any effort you may take to initiate change again. Make no mistake, this is not a matter of the bus being late or not having the money to buy the mansion of your dreams and being stuck with a mere four bedroom house. This is a condition in which one is experiencing sacrifice, an intense experience of futility, an obstacle or burden that one will carry for a period of time.
The situation surrounding the Hanged Man is not one that bends to our previous logic and lessons. Working harder will not loosen the ropes, in fact it may intensify the pain. Begging, pleading, bargaining, and putting forth more effort will also not prove advantageous now. It may seem like all is lost, but rest assured that is not the case. After all, we still have 9 more cards to go! "So what does the universe want from us? Why are we being tortured, punished, or even abandoned? "
Liberation for the Hanged Man will come, but it will be an inside job first. Our feelings of betrayal, anger at the Powers that Be, or loss of hope in the world is part of the internal prison that would exist even if a passerby kindly cut the ropes and released the Hanged Man from his tree. The events precipitating this difficult time stand to strengthen us, from the inside out. We are forced to accept external situations beyond our control and not to our liking. We are forced to find new meaning, new definitions. In a sense, "being hung upside down" forces us to consider a new view of the world not accessible to us before. We are forced to take a new perspective. Just like Odin, we are forced to learn a new vocabulary, develop new insight into the world through the loss of many of our previous senses. As Odin was suspended from the World Tree, sacrificing an eye but given the wisdom of the Runes, we are compelled to stretch our strength, limit our control, accept our situation and gain a greater, deeper understanding through sacrifice. When contentment and acceptance have been found through this new understanding, we will be released.

The auspiciousness of this month is decided by the position of janma lagnesh in the absence of (knowledge) information regarding the aadhan Lagna. If a woman delivers during this month then a lot of problems are caused to the child. Hence, a pregnant woman extremely needs to take complete rest during this month and the worship of lagnesh (or aadhan lagnesh, if known) proves to be beneficial from the point of view of the safety of the mother to be. That is why the holding of Seemantoonyan Sanskar has been recommended in the Indian religious texts, so that the foetus remains safe (secure).Moon is the master of the 9th month and Sun is the master of the 10th a pregnant woman remains healthy in the months pertaining to those planets which are in a favourable position in the aadhan Lagna or in the horoscope of the woman, but there is a possibility of problems arising in the months in which the planets related to the particular month are either afflicted, in debilitate or rival (adverse) birth sign or are in Bad position moreover rituals like Pushban Sanskar in the 4th month and Seemantoonayan Sanskar in the 6th or the 8th month which have been recommended in various religious scriptures with a view to ensure the safety of the baby foetus should be duly observed. Any woman who has become pregnant for the first time should observe the above mentioned rituals. I'm a big fan of Sherlock Holmes. I've loved the stories by Conan Doyle since I first read them, I avidly watched the Jeremy Brett TV seriesin the 1980s and I can't miss an episode of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock.
However, when I saw there was now a tarot deck based on the the consulting detective, I was a little unsure about how well the theme would translate into a divination tool. Conan Doyle might have been into things mystical, but his fictional sleuth was very much a man of science and rational deduction.
Nevertheless I was eager to try out the new boxed set Sherlock Holmes Tarot Book and Cards.Its creators, John Matthews and Wil Kinghan are renowned tarot set designers. Their previous decks include The Steampunk Tarot: Gods of the Machine.
The new Sherlock Holmes deck is unlike any I have used before. As the book that comes with the set says: "...the imagery, while echoing that of a standard tarot deck, to a degree, also offers different images and interpretations."
Very different, I would say. The suits, for example, are observation, evidence, analysis and deduction rather than swords, wands, cups and coins. You only have to look at the photos of cards on this post to see that they offer some very non-standard depictions and names and there is even a new wild card - the Giant Rat of Sumatra. Even if you are an experienced tarot reader, you will have to read the book before using the set, and then familiarise yourself quite well with the individual cards before doing a reading.
I've spent quite a bit of time over the past week or so doing just that, and I've come to like this deck a lot. It seems particularly good when you have a specific question you want an answer about, such as what to do about a work situation or a relationship. Mind you, don't go taking all the murder scenes too literally - a card showing a detective leaning over a dead body probably just means make sure you have all the evidence from the clues before jumping to a conclusion. Bumping off an annoying colleague or spouse is not the solution Holmes would suggest, after all :)
Even if you don't want to use this set for the purposes of divination, Holmes' fans will love the artwork showing Holmes, Watson and other characters, scenes and locations from the stories, as well as commentary on them that is offered alongside suggested interpretations of the cards.
As publisher Connections says on its website: "Original characters make up the Major Arcana, and Arthur Conan Doyle's stories are featured throughout. Victorian London, with its shadowy buildings and fog-bound streets, forms the perfect setting for the card imagery."

We have information on success, goal setting, motivation, Internet businesses etc.We have information on how to heal ourselves with Bach Flower Remedies, Homeopathic remedies, Cell-Salts, Color, Reflexology etc.Now that the Age of Aquarius has given us the Internet as well as the Laws of Quantum Physics we have all the information to create a better life; to be healthier, wealthier, and happier.
