The headline already takes an editiorial opinion that there is bias against mosques and that it's just a question of the "extent." But look at the photo, above, which appears atop the story.The picture shows Mohammad Labadi, a board member for the Islamic Society of Northern Illinois University standing in front of a DeKalb house that is currently a mosque. He and the mosque members want to expand this house into a giant mosque. Note that there is a house next door and that it's in the middle of a neighborhood. Would you want that in your neighborhood? Think the presence of a giant mosque smack dab in the middle of your street will enhance property values? Wanna hear the call to prayer at 4:30 in the morning or 11:30 at night?These people trying to expand have utter chutzpah. But they have it because we let them. Because we are too wimpy to say no, and when we do, the few brave ones who fight the good fight are persecuted and excluded by everyone else.And that's not to mention Steven Kazmierczak, who in February 2008 committed a murderous massacre against Northern Illinois University students, killing five and injuring 21 before he committed suicide. As I reported on this site, this terrorist, Kazmierczak, apparently CONVERTED TO ISLAM AT NIU and was reportedly converted by and prayed at this same mosque. Kazmierczak learned Arabic and was doing a college paper in favor of HAMAS, which he supported. Where do you think he learned all of this? At the mosque.Then, there's DERRICK SHAREEF, an Islamic terrorist who plotted to blow up an Illinois shopping mall and shoot up Jews at a synagogue. Guess where he prayed? Same mosque in DeKalb. That's what happens when mosques invade neighborhoods and plop their prayer mats and hateful sermons in the middle of Middle American subdivisions and neighborhoods. It's a legitimate concern. But it's dismissed as "bias" by USA Today's sob story. And, in fact, neither Kazmierczak nor Shareef is even mentioned in the story. Shocker. We can't let the little people hear the truth. They can't handle it, and it might make 'em think Muslims don't exactly have American interests-let alone the interests of the neighborhood-in mind.Given all this, it's laughable that Labadi, whose mosque has apparently bred two Islamic terrorists-one who murdered several innocent Americans and another who tried to-wants us to think of him not as a Muslim, but as an American. The main idea of islam was never to make life difficult in the name of worship but it was the simplest religion even when other prophets preached it and when Muhammad s.a.w.w, the last messenger of ALLAH swt was given prophet hood, islam was sighted as the easiest among all the existing religions. This is the quality of Islam that even today, when there is so much of chaos in this world people get attracted to islam easily. The biggest joke of the history of the world was the incident of 9/11 which did not only took thousands of lives but also played as a major factor for the west to study and adopt Islamic belief. The zions planned something else, they wanted to wage war against ALLAH and Muslims, but unfortunately, they triggered a war against their own religions and weird beliefs.

"Oh you who believe! Submit to peace, the religion of Islam, fully (unreservedly) and unconditionally. Do not follow in the footsteps of Shaitan. Indeed, he is the (professed and) manifest enemy of yours."

What west tried to show as a religion of weird beliefs is now growing faster in the west more than ever before? The west herself admitted that islam is the fastest growing religion and they present this issue to their tables and conferences, as an alarming issue to be taken care of. No matter how much muslims these people wiped out, they are still grow in number day by day.

The recent attacks in Norway by an Christian Anders Behring Breivik has also admitted that there are many people like him who do not want to see islam growing in the west. This is how much the west is afraid of the growth of islam.

Islam is a growing religion because it offers peace which no other religion offers. The concept of GOD in islam is unique and attractive which other religions cannot have. There is no pride being a muslim unlike jews and there will be justice in here and hereafter for the deed unlike Christians. There are no multiple gods to follow unlike hinduism and there is no prostration to a human unlike Sikhs. Muslims are not told to leave life like bhakshus and they are told to be just and show equality. The muslim females are treated as precious and delicate humans unlike any other religion followers and there is everything in islam which other religions lack. The comprehensive and easiness of islam has attracted many people towards it. But above all, it is the truth which is only present in Quran the book of Islam. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.w prophesied the most population as muslims which is happening today. What else could be true if not islam?

How Should We Spend Life

life is the biggest blessing of Allah swt. It is the most precious gift we have got. Life is the biggest chance to prove our love and our iman. To lead life in a successful way is what we are required to do. But we are created on the formula of free will, i.e. we are free to choose whatever option we find acceptable. This is why our life is also a challenge at the same time.Allah swt has told us everything that we need to do to lead a successful life. In islam, the concept of successful life is very different from what we think it is. A successful life for a muslim is a life where we ensures with all his deeds, the success of the life coming up next. Allah swt has told us every thing that we need to do in order to achieve the success. He sent our beloved messenger to not only preach islam but He also made prophet Muhammad pbuh an example to be followed. Prophet Muhammad pbuh is our best example. His (pbuh) life, his (pbuh) character and everything contains wisdom and meaning.Most of us know what we should do to earn Allah's happiness and pleasure in this life and in the hereafter. But there are few things that we need to keep in mind in our plans of life. Allah swt will not only ask us about our deeds, but He swt will also ask us about everything we were given in this life. Prophet Muhammad pbuh said;"A man will not be able to move until he is asked about his life. That how he spent his life? What did he practice on his knowledge? From where did he earn? On what did he spend? And how did he use his body" (sunan tirmidhi: 2417)This hadith tells us how much life is importance. Unfortunately, most of us spend our energies on doing good deeds while the real essence of goodness is never known to most of us. This hadith tell us first that we will be asked about the pattern of our life, how we spent it, what did we do to it. And then we will be asked about our knowledge. This knowledge is the knowledge of islam. And upon this knowledge is based our actions and our good deeds. If our goodness is not coming from islam, then this is the point of concern. In this age, most people would like to be good with others but as soon as they are asked to act on islam, they dislike it or say that islam is their personal matter.Indeed islam is the personal matter, but knowledge of islam and practicing it is also very important. Maybe, one good islamic act from us inspire many others towards islam. Than this hadith tells us that our earnings will be questioned. Now a man who offers salah, observes fasts, pays zakah and does all the good things but does not care about his earnings, will be held responsible for them. So our earnings are also a matter of concern. Try never to earn even a penny which is illegal or which you are paid for, for that work which you have not done. Many such schemes are very popular these days which trap people to get money for nothing. Next question will be asked about our spending. Miser as well as a spend thrift people are not liked in islam. Islam tells us to spend on our family first and then on others. Islam does not encourage us to save while other starve and to spend so much that one does not have anything. And last question would be about our body.Health is wealth. And this is true. When we are young and energetic, we can do lots of work with zeal and interest. Plus, adopting a life style where we hurt our own body is also an act which is not liked. Infact, it is mentioned in a sahih hadith that too much ibadah is also not liked because too much ibadah means burdening oneself too much. So islam tells us that our health is also our responsibility. This is why all those food and life styles which hurt humans physically as well as mentally are forbidden.Life is very important. It is not just a time period we have to pass, but it is a full responsibility itself. And everything we intend to do in it is also responsibility. Islam tells us to spend life wisely.

Be the first of your friends to like this. "You watch how we get angry." - Abjol Miah, activist, Islamic Forum for Europe" Authorities in London have rejected a controversial proposal by a radical Islamic group to build one of the largest mosques in the world near the city's Olympic Stadium.

Prominent Muslims have responded to the news by vowing to punish the Labour Party in future elections unless the decision is reversed and the application to build the mosque is approved immediately.

The Strategic Development Committee of the Labour-led Newham Council, the local authority for the London Borough of Newham, unanimously decided on December 5 to reject an application by the Muslim group Tablighi Jamaat to build a "super-mosque" in West Ham, East London, amid fierce opposition and concern from local citizens.

Had the applicationbeen approved, the super-mosque, known as the Abbey Mills Riverine Center, would have held up to 10,000 worshippers, making it the largest religious building in Britain and the largest mosque in Europe.

By comparison, Britain's largest cathedral, the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool, can hold no more than 3,000 worshippers, and St. Paul's Cathedral, one of the iconic features of the London skyline, has a capacity of 2,500.

The 6.6 hectare (16.5 acre) site, about one mile from the 2012 Olympic Village in West Ham, would have included two 40-foot minarets, an Islamic library, a dining hall, tennis courts, sports facilities, eight apartments for visiting Muslim clerics and hundreds of parking spaces (photos here).

Much of the funding for the super-mosque, which was estimated to cost around lb100 million (160 million), was expected to come from Saudi Arabia.

The project to build a "contemporary Islamic sacred space" was so massive in scale that critics said the mega-mosque was actually a smokescreen for an ambitious plan to establish the first Islamic Sharia-controlled enclave in East London, where more than 25% of the population is Muslim (compared with about 9% in London as a whole).

The construction plans were submitted by Tablighi Jamaat, a controversial Sunni Muslim missionary movement with roots in India. Tablighi Jamaat, which in English means "Society for the Spreading of the Faith" or "Proselytizing Group," is the largest group of religious proselytizers of any faith in the world.

Tablighi Jamaat is active in Southwest and Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe and North America, and has contributed to the explosive growth of Islamic religious fervor and conversion around the world.

Although Tablighi Jamaat promotes itself as open and socially integrated, and strives to project a non-threatening image, the group has been accused not only of radicalizing young Muslims, but after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, members of the group were also accused of having ties to Muslim terrorist organizations.

In addition, two of those responsible for the suicide bombings in London on July 7, 2005, Shehzad Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan, as well as failed shoe bomber Richard Reid, have been linked to a Tablighi mosque in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Muktar Said Ibrahim, the leader of a group that attempted to bomb London's public transport system on July 21, 2005, attended a Tablighi mosque in East London, and the "fifth bomber" in the July 21 plot, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, attended a Tablighi gathering in Dewsbury for three days.

The group also operated from mosques in Walthamstow, east London, and High Wycombe, Bucks, where several of the 2006 transatlantic airline plotters worshipped. Assad Sarwar, the bomb maker, and Waheed Zaman, a biochemistry student, both joined weekend camps run by Tablighi Jamaat.

American security officials have called Tablighi Jamaat a "recruiting ground for Al Qaeda," and French intelligence officials have described the group as an "antechamber of fundamentalism." The French Tablighi expert Marc Gaborieau says the group's ultimate objective is nothing short of a "planned conquest of the world" in the spirit of jihad.

An estimated 3,000 of the mega-mosque's supporters, some of whom travelled to London from as far away as Bradford and Birmingham, gathered outside Newham Council's town hall ahead of the decision on December 5. Some of them held signs reading: "15 years of waiting. Not a day more. Vote yes to the Riverine Center."

Later that evening, the Newham Town Council announced that all eight councillors on the Strategic Development Committee had voted to reject the Tablighi mosque application on the grounds that the building was "too big" and would not serve the needs of the local community.

After the meeting, Councillor Conor McAuley, Newham Council's Executive Member for Regeneration and Strategic Planning, issued a formal statement: "Councillors have considered this application at length and with great care before deciding to reject it. The council undertook a rigorous and extensive consultation about the proposals in the run-up to this decision."

McAuley added: "Our planning policies promote the development of the Abbey Mills site for a mix of residential, employment and community uses, to help create a new local center near West Ham station and regenerate the area. The creation of new homes and jobs are a priority for Newham Council. It is not considered that this application is consistent with these policies. There are also concerns about the size of the proposed buildings and impact on parking and traffic in the local area."

He also said: "Apart from the proposals being contrary to the planning policy for the site, they are also unacceptable for a number of other reasons. These are: the proposed mosque building is too big and would have an impact on important historic buildings nearby; it will generate too much traffic resulting in people parking on local residents' streets; the site is heavily contaminated raising safety issues which are not properly addressed by the application; the application proposes keeping existing buildings on the site, which are poorly designed."

The decision followed an extensive public consultation which resulted in 29,888 responses: 26,139 in support and 3,749 against.

Tablighi Jamaat had been requesting permission to build the mosque since 1999 (the original plans called for a mosque with a capacity for 70,000 worshippers) and said the building was needed to accommodate the followers it has across London.

In 2005, a former Newham town councillor, Alan Craig, launched a campaign called "Mega Mosque No Thanks" to stop the project, which he said would have resulted in the establishment of an "Islamic ghetto" in East London.

After Newham Council announced its decision to reject the mosque application, Craig said: "I'm opposed to both the nature of the group and the size of the mosque they want to build. We have freedom of religion and if Tablighi Jamaat wanted to build a neighborhood mosque, that's fine. But they want to build a massive headquarters in an area that cannot support such a building."

Some local Muslims had also expressed concerns that it would give one Islamic group too much dominance over the community.

The decision by Newham Council was immediately denounced by supporters of the project who vowed to fight on and seek a judicial review to overturn the decision.

The leader of the Tablighi community in East London, Alauddin Ahmed, was quoted by the BBCas saying: "There are 90,000 Muslims around the borough. The Muslim community is growing and there is need for bigger worship [facilities]. We are extremely let down. We think it is unjust because of the demand of the local people and the Muslim community."

Alan Craig, the anti-mosque activist, said: "Tablighi Jamaat has shown they have deep pockets and are determined to fulfill their ambition for a massive international center on this site irrespective of local concerns. We can expect them to appeal over the heads of Newham Council to the Planning Inspectorate at Bristol, as they have done successfully before, and that this issue will drag on much longer yet."

Muslims have also warned the Labour Party that it will pay a price for turning down the application. Abjol Miah, a leading activist for both the far left Respect Party and the extremist Islamic Forum of Europe said: "I think a lot of people tonight that weren't political have become political. It is a shame we have Labour councillors and committee members here. You know we have the London council elections in 2014 and I think the residents are going to be thinking differently. They are going to get more active. It is a time for change for Labour. You watch how we get angry."

Newham Council is also engaged in a separate legal fight against Tablighi Jamaat, which currently uses part of the Abbey Mills site to house the London Markaz (also known as Masjid-e-Ilyas) as a temporary mosque complex that can accommodate up to 2,500 people.

Newham Council says Tablighi no longer has permission to use the site and has taken legal action to compel the group to stop using the Abbey Mills site as a mosque and to demolish temporary buildings.

HAMASTAN: THE GENIE IN THE BOTTLE

An Islamic emirate in the West Bank and Gaza strip will eventually drop like ripe fruit into Hamas's lap, while Hamas plots the "liberation" of all of "Palestine." Hamas's "prime minister, Ismail Haniya, now wants to demand that Western countries delete Hamas from their lists of designated terrorist organizations. It was clear that Mahmoud Abbas's role was over and that a non-alcoholic toast could be proposed to the forthcoming Hamastan, with the blessings of the UN and Allah. During Operation Pillar of Defense the heads of the Islamic terrorist organizations, led by Hamas's Khaled Mashal and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's Ramadan Shallah, could not stop repeating their support for Iran. Thanking Iran again and again, they extolled its role in arming them with missiles and money, which, in the service of that sponsor of terror and terrorists, Shi'ite Iran, enabled them to carry out their subversive activities against Israel.

The heads of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad did not realize that, at least for now, times had changed: the leaders of the Sunni Arab states of the Arab Spring have apparently decided that the plan to exterminate the "Crusader West" in Europe and the United States has been put on hold. The Islamic states, especially Mohamed Morsi's Sunni Egypt, are in desperate need, just to survive, of the deep pockets of the infidel United States, to say nothing of fending off the perpetual threat from Shi'ite Iran.

For that reason, Khaled Mashal and Ramadan Shallah's sincere support for Iran came at the worst possible time for the leaders of Sunni Islam in its confrontation with Iran. It put them in mind of Arafat's catastrophic support of Saddam Hussein when he invaded Kuwait and threatened the interests of the entire world, both Arab and Western. The Palestinians remember that Arafat did a great deal of damage to the Palestinian cause; after Saddam Hussein was overthrown, the Palestinian community was expelled from Kuwait.

The arms and money that the Iranians give the Palestinian terrorist organizations are a thorn in the side of the Egyptian and other Sunni Islamic regimes in the Middle East. It was Islamic terrorist operatives from the Gaza Strip, who had an affinity for Iran, that were behind the murder of Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai Peninsula during the most recent Ramadan fast.

As far as the Egyptians are concerned, Iranian-linked terrorism would be acceptable if it targeted only Israel. However, Iran's active intervention against Egypt was exhibited by a subversive network of pro-Iranians, exposed by Egypt on its own soil. The Iranian footprint was visible and obvious in the type of terrorism, the political subversion, and the encouragement of internal strife in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain -- and which has now spread as well to Africa, Canada and South America and Europe.

As in the "Thousand and One Nights", the Egyptians temporarily pushed the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad genie back into the bottle. By deliberately manipulating the Palestinians into accepting an Israeli/Palestinian-terrorist-organization ceasefire whose "understandings" were deliberately indistinct, Egypt hoped the Palestinians would sit quietly and wait for their eventual opportunity to attack Israel again. It hoped to neutralize the connection between the terrorist organizations and Iran; with a wink and a nod, Egypt ushered the leaders of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad back into the fold of Sunni Islamic interests.

The Egyptians forced Khaled Mashal and Ramadan Shallah to postpone, temporarily, the instant gratification they get from killing Israeli civilians, and to act with restraint as having won a "victory" brokered by Mohamed Morsi, the new dictator anointed by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. That strategic Egyptian hug caused a temporary shift away from the slippery terrorist organizations' self-serving loyalty to, and support of, Iran and Syria. That was after they had succeeded, in a confrontation they initiated against Israel in the service of Iran, to draw the attention of the world away from both Iran's atom bomb and Syria's accelerating slaughter of its own people.

The new leaders of the Islamic countries, who rose to power on the backs of the Islamists during the Arab Spring, identify with the Palestinian terrorist organizations' ideological and operative platforms. Their joint, ultimate mission is to Islamize or destroy the "infidel Crusader world" and its local branch, Israel.

In the meantime, the Sunni leaders are worried about the danger of a nuclear Iran and its negative influence on the internal security of their countries.

They are also more worried than is publicly recognized by the intensive, silent, slow invasion of articles of Shi'ite Islamic faith into the Sunni landscape by means of "taqiyya" [dissimulation], whereby Shi'ite clerics pretend to be Sunnis and insinuate Shi'a into their sermons, stealthily converting the unaware Sunnis.

The wink and nod the leaders of the Arab Spring have given to Hamas reinforced its impression that they had chosen the movement as an ideological partner, having closed up shop for Mahmoud Abbas after slapping him on the back and giving him a goodbye Mafia kiss. Hamas, it turns out, took the hint, and is apparently willing to wait like a genie in a smoking bottle.

That new alliance is the reason Hamas, which until very recently opposed the Palestinian Authority's move to gain recognition from the UN, suddenly supported Mahmoud Abbas' initiative. An Islamic emirate in the Gaza Strip and West Bank will eventually drop like a ripe fruit into Hamas's lap, while in the meantime Hamas plots the "liberation" of all of "Palestine."

Now, exploiting the impetus gained by the UN's recognition of "Palestine" as a non-member observer state, Hamas's "prime minister," Ismail Haniya, wants to milk the sympathy of the West for the Palestinians, by demanding that Western countries delete Hamas from their lists of designated terrorist organizations.

With the buildup of support for Hamas, the leader of the Palestinian Authority feels a pan-Arab noose around his neck. It spurred the Palestinian Authority to achieve a "historic victory," a political gain, and to receive recognition for "Palestine." With his return to Ramallah as a "victor," with a "Palestinian state" in his briefcase, Mahmoud Abbas was quick to announce -- in response to Israel's announcement that it would build in the settlements in Judea and Samaria -- that he would no long arrest Hamas operatives in the West Bank.

Even as the masses rallied in the squares of the West Bank and called for the "liberation of Palestine," it was clear that Mahmoud Abbas's role was over and that a non-alcoholic toast could be proposed to the forthcoming Hamastan, with the blessings of the UN and Allah.

Khaled Mashal now supports the recognition of "Palestine" as a state, but subject to the ideology of an armed campaign for "the liberation of all Palestine." As part of a new policy of changing directions like a weathervane, Hamas and Palestinian Authority leaders now propose a Palestinian national unity, elections in the territories, and more national achievements and changes, such as restoring the principle of the "liberation of Palestine" through "armed struggle" to the Palestinian Charter, and plan to wring the last benefit to themselves from the West's motivation for quiet. Quiet also serves Western strategy, but when the time comes and they have amassed military and economic force, they will betray their Western benefactors, violate all agreements, the ceasefire included, because their ideology commits them to fight both the infidel Crusader West and Israel. The Hamas leadership even had a "fatwa" (religious edict) issued by a Gazan sheikh and acceptable to the extremist Islamic Salafists, which forbids violating -- at this point -- the ceasefire, unless Israel violates it first.

When will the Hamas genie be let out of the bottle? That will apparently be the decision of the leaders of the Arab Spring's new Islam, along with the Muslim Brotherhood, in accordance with the strategic needs of Sunni Islam.

Everyone Is Afraid To Criticize Islam

OK, so I don't completely agree with this young lady (I feel her views are skewed by bitter experiences in Somalia; she sees them as a product of Islam, I see them as a product of poverty and lack of education) but I agree with her right to air her views, make documentaries, criticize Islam etc.But I still think the cartoons in Jyllands-Posten were offensive because they had no political point to make. They were provocative for their own sake and needlessly offensive. Plus, their use of Muhammad in pictures (which Muslims don't, shall we say, appreciate) was aimed at inflaming public opinion, not questioning it. If they'd used a generic figure in the same context (bomb turban and all), there wouldn't have been any outrage.I'm not condoning the violence and I'm not saying Muslims don't over-react and resort to violence all the time. All I'm saying is that the criticism of the cartoons is justified to me.
