There have been quite a few medical benefits meditation has shown to exhibit. Lower blood pressure, effective treatment for pain and evidence of physical brain growth are just a few.Unless you're unfamiliar with meditation, it can be confusing as to where to start. Using these simple meditation techniques, clear away some of the confusion and introduce yourself to the art of meditation.Simple Meditation Techniques For Beginners
* Yoga/Tai chi- Both yoga and tai chi integrate the art of meditation within its practice, bridging together both mind and body. Often when practicing yoga, you won't even realize the state of conscience you are in until after the session is over. With my first experience with yoga, I thought "Wow, I never thought I could let go of my thoughts for that long." It was a truly refreshing experience.
* Guided meditation- This is one of my favorite meditation techniques for beginners because they can make it very easy to relax and let the mind do what it needs to do. Simply listen to some light music and follow the instructions from the narrator as they lead you through your session by guiding your thoughts. Often, coupled with a mantra (a sound, word or phrase) to bring the mind back to its "path" when it wanders, guided meditations work great for those who have no idea what to do.
* Binaural beats- These programs take a very scientific approach to ancient art of meditation. As you listen to light music or soft noise, an undetectable tone is played in each ear, both at a separate frequency. Our minds produce different frequencies when we achieve different levels of meditation, enhancing different functions associated with those frequencies. So what these programs do is resonate our brain to the desired frequency we choose. Kind of like when you hold a vibrating tuning fork close to a second one, that second tuning fork will pick up the vibration. By playing these tones at different frequencies, it's believed to induce the mind to levels of relaxation, creativity and other desirable results.
* Zen Meditation- This is one of the truest techniques you can attempt and is absolutely free! Zen meditation directs the attention of the practitioner to their breaths through the meditation. When distracting thoughts or feeling start to creep in, bring your attention back to your breath. Imagine clean, pure air refreshing you as you breath in. Conversely, release all tension and negativity as you breath out. Start out with just a couple minutes a day and add a little time when you're comfortable. Soon you will be able to achieve meditation quite quickly and easily.
Once you're familiar with the art of meditation, you will realize it can be implemented into many parts of our everyday life. From the not-so-subtle use of meditation in yoga and tai chi to using meditation in everyday activities like walking and gardening, its application to life is very diverse. Not only great for the mind, but these simple meditation techniques for beginners can help introduce you to a rewarding practice for balancing mind, body and spirit.Once I discovered how good meditation made me feel, I began writing and sharing about the benefits meditation can have. Every day, I realize more and more how a connection to ourselves can help create a better, more compassionate world. Visit my blog to see how I try to implement my learning from meditation every day.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Scott Dziadul
