Moses Red Sea Crossing And Palm Sunday

Moses Red Sea Crossing And Palm Sunday
Quills, Iowa sent an email that is passing around about the archaeological finds that back up the story of Moses and the People of Israel who crossed the Red Sea to escape Pharaoh's chariot division with the result of the entire "army" being swallowed up by the Red Sea. Tomorrow is PALM SUNDAY, and the following Sunday is EASTER. I thought this would be an appropriate time, although long before Jesus time on Earth, to write this article. The media announced this discovery in 2003, so the recent email represents old news in the world of archaeology and matters of strange phenomenon.

The Crossing of the Red Sea has been an inspiration, as well as the life of Moses who was a prophet of the people of Israel during the time period called "The Captivity". Depicted on film by the director great - Cecil B. Demille - a legend in the film industry, as well as written about by theological scholars and historians - the Crossing of the Red Sea is a big story concerning divine intervention that saved a people who would later marched through history, and themselves considered the historians.

The archaeological finding was the result of the hard work that took many years of a man by the name of Ron Wyatt. There is a site that is dedicated to his work entitled Wyatt Archaeological Research Inc. And, as with many things concerning biblical archaeology, there are those who are skeptic, and others who defend his findings. He had searched for archaeological evidence of the Ark of the Covenant, Noah's Ark, and Moses Crossing of the Red Sea.Wikipedia entry:Ronald Eldon Wyatt (1933 - August 4, 1999) was a controversial self-styled archaeologist (he had no training in the discipline and held no professional position) who claimed to have found many significant biblical sites and artifacts. His claims are dismissed by the scientific and historical communities. Wyatt was a nurse-anesthetist... when in 1960 he say a picture in Life magazine of a boat-like shape on a mountain near Mount Ararat.... it started Wyatt on his career as a self-styled archaeologist. From 1977 until his death in 1999 he made over one hundred trips to the Middle East, his interests widening to take in a wide variety of references from the Old and New Testaments. By the time of his death in 1999 his claimed discoveries included: (1) The true Noah's Ark (theDurupinar site, near but not on Mount Ararat); (2) Anchor stones (actually drogue stones) used by Noah on the Ark; (3) The post-flood house and tombs of Noah and his wife; (4) The location of Sodom and Gomorrah; (5) Sulfur balls from the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah; (6) The site of the Israelites' crossing of the Red Sea (which Wyatt located in the Gulf of Aqaba); (7) Chariot wheels and other relics of the pursuing army of Pharaoh at the bottom of the sea; (8) The true site of the biblical Mt. Sinai(located by Wyatt in Saudi Arabia at Jabal al Lawz); (9) A chamber at the end of a maze of tunnels under Jerusalem containing artifacts from Solomon's Temple; (10) The Ark of the Covenant; (11) The original stones of the Ten Commandments; (12) The true site of the Crucifixion; (13) The blood of Jesus dripped onto the Mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant, directly beneath the Crucifixion.

"His credibility was often disputed, often bitterly, by genuine archaeologists and biblical scholars. One member of the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) stated that "Ron Wyatt is neither an archaeologist nor has he ever carried out a legally licensed excavation in Israel or Jerusalem. In order to excavate on must have at least a BA in archaeology which he does not possess despite his claims to the contrary..." Though Mr. Wyatt was allowed to dig within this privately owned garden on a number of occasions staff members of the Association observed his progress and entered his excavated shaft. As far as we are aware nothing was ever discovered to support his claims nor have we seen any evidence of biblical artifacts or temple treasures.... Answer in Genesis has called some of Wyatt's claims fraudulent. Some think that RON WYATT was the original "Indiana Jones" - a treasure seeker and not an archaeologist. But, according to all who had known him or spent time with him on his digs and other places, he was just a Christian who was fulfilling the desire to search for those places and artifacts that would establish what has been recorded by writers of the books of the Bible and written about by biblical historians and scholars.Much of what RON WYATT searched and claimed he found is depicted on programs of the Sky Angel, a multi-channel, direct-to-home satellite television and radio service that specializes in Christian and "family-friendly" programming. But the most clear and established findings was his search for the spot where MOSES and the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. Ron actually retrieved a hub of a wheel which had 8 spokes. He took it to Cairo and the office of Nassif Mohammed Hassan, the director of Antiquities who Ron had previously worked with. Mr. Hassan examined it and announced that it was of the 18th Dynasty of the Pharaohs in ancient Egypt. Mr. Hassan reasoning was that it had eight spokes. But Ron Wyatt also found chariot wheels that had four and six spoked wheels. The 18th Dynasty represented THUTMOSES IV, the pharaoh of the Moses story in the Book of Exodus, CHAPTER 14:AND JEHOVAH SPAKE UNTO MOSES, SAYING, SPEAK UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, THAT THEY TURN BACK AND ENCAMP BEFORE PIHAHIROTH, BETWEEN MIGDOL AND THE SEA, BEFORE BAAL-ZEPHON: OVER AGAINST IT SHALL YE ENCAMP BY THE SEA. AND PHARAOH WILL SAY OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, THEY ARE ENTANGLED IN THE LAND, THE WILDERNESS HATH SHUT THEM IN. AND I WILL HARDEN PHARAOH'S HEART, AND HE SHALL FOLLOW AFTER THEM; AND I GET ME HONOR UPON PHARAOH, AND UPON ALL HIS HOSTS AND THE EGYPTIANS SHALL KNOW THAT I AM JEHOVAH. AND THEY DID SO. AND IT WAS TOLD THE KING OF EGYPT THAT THE PEOPLE WERE FLED: AND THE HEART OF PHARAOH AND OF HIS SERVANTS WAS CHANGED TOWARDS THE PEOPLE, AND THEY SAID, WHAT IS THIS WE HAVE DONE, THAT WE HAVE LET ISRAEL GO FROM SERVING US? AND HE MADE READY HIS CHARIOT, AND TOOK HIS PEOPLE WITH HIM: AND HE TOOK SIX HUNDRED CHOSEN CHARIOTS, AND ALL THE CHARIOTS OF EGYPT AND CAPTAINS OVER ALL OF THEM. AND JEHOVAH HARDENED THE HEART OF PHARAOH KING OF EGYPT, AND HE PURSUED AFTER THE CHILDREN OFISRAEL: FOR THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WENT OUT WITH A HIGH HAND. AND THE EGYPTIANS PURSUED AFTER THEM, ALL THE HORSES [AND] CHARIOTS OF PHARAOH, AND HIS HORSEMEN, AND HIS ARMY AND OVERTOOK THEM ENCAMPING BY THE SEA BESIDE PIHAHIROTH, BEFORE BAAL-ZEPHON. AND WHEN PHAROAH DREW NIGH, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL LIFTED UP THEIR EYES, AND, BEHOLD, THE EGYPTIANS WERE MARCHING AFTER THEM; AND THEY WERE SORE AFRAID: AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL CRIED OUT ONTO JEHOVAH. AND THEY SAID UNTO MOSES, BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT GRAVES IN EGYPT, HAS THOU TAKEN US AWAY TO DIE IN THE WILDERNESS? WHEREFORE HAST THOU DEALT THUS WITH US, TO BRING US FORTH OUT OF EGYPT? IS NOT THIS WORD THAT WE SPAKE UNTO THEE IN EGYPT, SAYING, LET US ALONE, THAT WE MAY SERVE THE EGYPTIANS? FOR IT WERE BETTER FOR US TO SERVE THE EGYPTIANS, THAN THAT WE SHOULD DIE IN THE WILDERNESS. AND MOSES SAID UNTO THE PEOPLE, FEAR YE NOT, STAND STILL, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF JEHOVAH, WHICH HE WILL WORK FOR YOU TODAY, YE SHALL SEE THEM AGAIN NO MORE FOR EVER. JEHOVAH WILL FIGHT FOR YOU, AND YE SHALL HOLD YOUR PEACE. AND JEHOVAH SAID UNTO MOSES, WHEREFORE CRIEST THOU UNTO ME? SPEAK UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, THAT THEY GO FORWARD. AND LIFT THOU UP THY ROD, AND STRETCH OUT THY HAND OVER THE SEA, AND DIVIDE IT: AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SHALL GO INTO THE MIDST OF THE SEA ON DRY GROUND. AND I, BEHOLD, I WILL HARDEN THE HEARTS OF THE EGYPTIANS, AND THEY SHALL GO IN AFTER THEM: AND I WILL GET ME HONOR UPON PHARAOH, AND UPON ALL HIS HOST, UPON HIS CHARIOTS, AND UPON HIS HORSEMEN. AND THE EGYPTIANS SHALL KNOW THAT I AM JEHOVAH, WHEN I HAVE GOTTEN ME HONOR UPON PHARAOH, UPON HIS CHARIOTS, AND UPON HIS HORSEMEN. AND THE ANGEL OF GOD, WHO WENT BEFORE THE CAMP OF ISRAEL, REMOVED AND WENT BEHIND THEM; AND THE PILLAR OF CLOUD REMOVED FROM BEFORE THEM, AND STOOD BEHIND THEM: AND IT CAME BETWEEN THE CAMP OF EGYPT AND THE CAMP OF ISRAEL; AND THERE WAS THE CLOUD AND THE DARKNESS, YET GAVE IT LIGHT BY NIGHT: AND THE ONE CAME NOT NEAR THE OTHER ALL THE NIGHT. AND MOSES STRETCHED OUT HIS HAND OVER THE SEA; AND JEHOVAH CAUSED THE SEA TO GO BACK BY A STRONG EAST WIND ALL THE NIGHT, AND MADE THE SEA DRY LAND, AND THE WATERS WERE DIVIDED. AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WENT INTO THE MIDST OF THE SEA UPON THE DRY GROUND: AND THE WATERS WERE A WALL UNTO THEM ON THEIR RIGHT HAND, AND ON THEIR LEFT. AND THE EGYPTIANS PURSUED, AND WENT IN AFTER THEM INTO THE MIDST OF THE SEA, ALL PHARAOH'S HORSES, HIS CHARIOTS, AND HIS HORSEMEN. AND IT CAME TO PASS IN THE MORNING WATCH, THAT JEHOVAH LOOKED FORTH UPON THE HOST OF THE EGYPTIANS THROUGH THE PILLAR OF FIRE AND OF CLOUD, AND DISCOMFITED THE HOST OF THE EGYPTIANS. AND HE TOOK OFF THEIR CHARIOT WHEELS, AND THEY DROVE THEM HEAVILY; SO THAT THE EGYPTIANS SAID, LET US FLEE FROM THE FACE OF ISRAEL; FOR JEHOVAH FIGHTETH FOR THEM AGAINST THE EGYPTIANS. AND JEHOVAH SAID UNTO MOSES, STRETCH OUT THY HAND OVER THE SEA, THAT THE WATERS MAY COME AGAIN UPON THE EGYPTIANS, UPON THEIR CHARIOTS, AND UPON THEIR HORSEMEN. AND MOSES STRETCHED FORTH HIS HAND OVER THE SEA, AND THE SEA RETURNED TO ITS STRENGTH WHEN THE MORNING APPEARED; AND THE EGYPTIANS FLED AGAINST IT; AND JEHOVAH OVERTHREW THE EGYPTIANS IN THE MIDST OF THE SEA. AND THE WATERS RETURNED, AND COVERED THE CHARIOTS, AND THE HORSEMEN, EVEN ALL THE HOST OF PHARAOH THAT WENT IN AFTER THEM INTO THE SEA; THERE REMAINED NOT SO MUCH AS ONE OF THEM. BUT THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WALKED UPON DRY LAND IN THE MIDST OF THE SEA; AND THE WATERS WERE A WALL UNTO THEM ON THEIR RIGHT HAND, AND ON THEIR LEFT. THUS JEHOVAH SAVED ISRAEL THAT DAY OUT OF THE HAND OF THE EGYPTIANS; AND ISRAEL SAW THE EGYPTIANS DEAD UPON THE SEA-SHORE. AND ISRAEL SAW THE GREAT WORK WHICH JEHOVAH DID UPON THE EGYPTIANS, AND THE PEOPLE FEARED JEHOVAH: AND THEY BELIEVED IN JEHOVAH, AND IN HIS SERVANT MOSES.THE GULF OF AQABA IS DEEP AND IN SOME PLACES ABOUT A MILE DEEP. THE SHALLOW PART WITH A SLOPE THAT WOULD PROVIDE THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL PASSAGE ACROSS THE RED SEA IS LOCATED IN A LINE BETWEEN NUWEIBA AND THE SHORE OF SAUDI ARABIA ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE.RON WYATT claimed that the evidence of chariots in the Red Sea had not been found because biblical scholars, historians and archaeologists had been looking in the wrong place. Modern soundings has established that there is a land bridge at the site that Ron Wyatt says is the spot where the crossing took place, and where the artifacts were found as physical proof. Divers produced photographs, which is contradictory to TRUTH OF FICTION's claim that the discovery was unproven". SNOPES also claims it to be "undetermined". Apparently they had not examined the photos from the archaeological dives.

In an article by JOE KOVACS, published by World Net Daily on June 21st 2003:... THE ISSUE IS SURFACING SOME 3,500 YEARS AFTER THE EVENT IS SAID TO HAVE TAKEN PLACE WITH REPORTS OF EGYPTIAN CHARIOT WHEELS FOUND IN THE RED SEA, PHOTOGRAPHS TO DOCUMENT IT AND NEW BOOKS BY SCIENTISTS THAT COULD LEAD TO A WHOLE REMAPPING OF THE EXODUS ROUTE AND A FRESH LOOK AT ANCIENT BIBLICAL ACCOUNTS.PETER ELMER, A FORKLIFT MECHANIC FROM KEYNSHAM, ENGLAND - WITH HIS BROTHER, MARK, INSPIRED BY RON WYATT'S DISCOVERY AND CLAIMS, WENT ON TWO DIVING TRIPS TO THE GULF OF AQABA. ELMER SAID, ACCORDING TO THE WND ARTICLE:I BELIEVE I ACTUALLY SAT IN AN ANCIENT CHARIOT CAB. WITHOUT QUESTION, IT IS THE MOST DEFINITELY THE REMAINS OF THE EGYPTIAN ARMY.RICHARD RIVES, president of Wyatt Archaeological Research in Tennessee, stated:ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE ARE FINDING CORAL AND CALLING IT CHARIOT PARTS. IT'S MOST LIKELY CORAL COVERED WITH CORAL.... OPPORTUNISTS ARE COMBINING FALSE THINGS WITH THE TRUE THINGS THAT ARE FOUND." RIVES WAS A LONGTIME PARTNER OF RON WYATT, AN ANESTHETIST AND AMATEUR ARCHAEOLOGIST WHO DIED OF CANCER IN 1999. BEFORE PASSING AWAY, WYATT DEVOTED YEARS SEARCHING FOR AND DOCUMENTING PHYSICAL EVIDENCE FOR EVENTS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE.CARL RASMUSSEN, a biblical geographer and professor of Old Testament at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota stated:THE TRUTH IS, NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHERE THE CROSSING OF THE RED SEA TOOK PLACE. RASMUSSEN COMPILED THE "ZONDERVAN NIV ATLAS OF THE BIBLE" AND PERSONALLY THINKS THE CROSSING TOOK PLACE SOMEWHERE ALONG WHAT IS NOW THE SUEZ CANAL. SOME SCIENTISTS FROM EUROPE SAY THE CURRENT MAPS ARE WRONG, AND THE WYATTS ARE RIGHT - THAT THE CROSSING BEGAN AT THE NUWEIBA BEACHHEAD, WENT THROUGH THE GULF OF AQABA, AND THEN INTO WHAT IS NOW SAUDI ARABIA WHERE THEY CLAIM THE "TRUE" MOUNT SINAI IS LOCATED.... NOW, A NEW BOOK BY CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PHYSICIST COLIN HUMPHREYS TITLED "THE MIRACLE OF EXODUS" SUPPORTS NOT ONLY THE CLAIM FOR AN AQUABA CROSSING, BUT ALSO THE LOCATION OF MOUNT SINAI IN ARABIA.... THROUGHOUT HIS WORK, HUMPHREYS PROVIDES SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATIONS TO CORROBORATE THE ACCOUNTS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. "'THE WATERS PILED UP, THE SURGING WATERS STOOD FIRM LIKE A WALL,' IS A REMARKABLE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE MATHEMATICS REVEALS TO BE THE CASE FOR WATER PUSHED BACK BY A VERY STRONG WIND," HE WRITES.... "THE EXODUS OF THE ANCIENT ISRAELITES FROM EGYPT REALLY IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TRUE STORIES EVER TOLD."LENNART MOLLER of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm stated:The wind did not separate the water. No person could be in that wind and surviveeeeee... If God has created all the Earth, it's no problem for Him to separate the water for a while. But the passage in Exodus states that the divine wind was what created the walls of water and a path to safety for the Israelites:And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.Photos above are part of the physical proof (Saudi Arabia will not allow artifacts to be removed) that a large number of chariots, as well as bones of men and horses lie where Ron Wyatt said they were.Ron Wyatt was not a charlatan, and while one cannot clearly say how exactly the chariots got there - the story of Moses encounter with pharaoh's chariot army is indeed backed up by evidence.

PALM SUNDAY

And, today, Palm Sunday marks another historical event concerning Jesus of Nazareth that continues to be a controversy between science (archaeology) and theology as time goes on. Palm Sunday, according to the Canonical Gospels rode a colt into Jerusalem with his disciples and friends and how the people lay down their cloaks in front of him and branches of the Palm tree as well. The people sang part of Psalm 118:... Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh. Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father, David...

Scholars say that Jesus of Nazareth entered at the Golden Gate, and some claim that his entrance into Jerusalem was to the south of the Golden Gate, which had stairs that led directly to the Temple. The palm branch, the reason why the proclaimed holy day in Christianity, is a Jewish tradition and symbol meaning triumph and victory, The general Jewish public believed that Jesus was the Messiah - the one who would return the sovereignty of Israel, as well as encourage the restoration of the Temple of Solomon. In a passage within the Wikipedia entry:Christians often interpret a passage from the Zechariah as a prophecy which was fulfilled by the Triumphal Entry:

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!

Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!

See, your king comes to you,

righteous and having salvation,

gentle and riding on a donkey,

on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

I will take away the chariots from Ephraim

and the war-horses from Jerusalem,

and the battle bow will be broken.

He will proclaim peace to the nations.

His rule will extend from sea to sea

and from the River to the ends of the earth.... A widespread Jewish belief states that the Mount of Olives would see the coming of the Messiah This belief is based upon Zechariah 14:3-4:

Then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east.

Therefore, it describes a revengeful warrior Messiah, who may be interpreted as your king... righteous and having salvation. The image of a revengeful warrior Messiah is much highlighted by the use of palm branches and by the fact that Jesus, once in Jerusalem, first visited the Temple.Concerning the day set aside for Palm Sunday, Wikipedia entry states:On the tenth of Nisan, according to the Mosaic Law, the lambs to be slaughtered at Passover were chosen. Because of the link of this to the Triumphal Entry, some new interpretations report that the event was not even on Sunday, because Nisan 10 would not be a Sunday if the Cruxifixion occurred on Friday the fourteeth. This day in the year of the Passion saw Messiah presented as the sacrificial lamb. It heralded his impending role as the Suffering Servant of Israel. There is evidence, however, that the 14th of Nisan was actually a Thursday, and that Jesus was actually crucified on Thursday and not Good Friday. The day of the crucifixion is called Preparation Day in Matthew 27:62, also called the day before the Sabbath in Mark 15:42 (hence the mistaken assumption it was Friday), but it also referred to as a special Sabbath in John 19:31, which was the Nisan the 15th, the first day of Passover, always known as a Sabbath regardless of what day it actually fell. This is further supported by John 12:1, 12, which shows that Jesus entered Jerusalem five days before the Passover, which would be the Friday after Palm Sunday. Thus the day before that would be Thursday, Preparation Day, followed by the Special Sabbath (Friday the first day of Passover), followed by the regular Sabbath, followed by the first day of the week, Easter Sunday. Originally the Roman Catholic Church officially called this Sunday the Second Sunday of the Passion; in 1970 the formal designation was changed to Passion Sunday, a change that caused considerable confusion because the latter term had heretofore been affixed to the previous Sunday, or the fifth within Lent.Regardless of what the original days were, it is Christian custom for worshippers to receive palm leaves on Palm Sunday - when they can be obtained.

Tacitus And The Jews Part Ii

Tacitus And The Jews Part Ii
Previously Tacitus has spent his drawing of the more or less theses that had manufacturing in the Roman and Greek literature concerning the origin of the jews: he take back to display his; seemingly above hand, knowledge of the Torah and the traditions of the jews by pointing out that" utmost concern agreement" that Moses/Moshe was staple to the concern of the jews as a nation. (10)

Tacitus faithfully relates an absorbing counter-tradition to the sparkle exodus of the jews from Egypt described in the Torah in so far he asserts that a just right virus of leprosy had occurred in Egypt and that Pharaoh had been tasked by the God Ammon to rid the country of the pestilence and to perform this pious act. The Pharaoh bowed up and turned out all intimates "'wretches'"; as Tacitus calls them, who had arranged the disease. We be required to letter in brusque that in the ancient, perfect and medieval worlds leprosy was viewed as an dirty disease and was normally approved to licentiousness. (11) These persons were after that cloistered from the country and impious out in the desert; which is allegedly a quotation to Sinai.

Tacitus' assertion; seemingly prepared on the basis of ancient Greek works on jews and Judaism, that the jews had their origin amid Egyptian lepers can be held to be watch quotation to Sh'moth/Exodus. As we find that the ten plagues that were supposedly cast down on the Egyptians by Hashem/Yahweh are slam to Tacitus' worn out in their critical assumptions in regard to the procedures. Tacitus tells us that the lepers/jews were encouraged out within the (Sinai) escape, so a just right virus had come upon Egypt and Sh'moth/Exodus claims that the jews looked-for to curl but Pharaoh had to be border on to let them curl by ten just right plagues. (12)

When is exceedingly absorbing to us is that the quotation to a virus is seemingly not finale i.e. it sway indicate that the jews residing in Egypt had been the right mind of far afield elimination and harm to the Egyptians and consequently were viewed as a just right virus consequently the quotation to them in Tacitus' draft as lepers (i.e. a oblique quotation to their allocation a horrific disease by their willful traditions somewhere they go). We find sketch for this interpretation in Sh'moth/Exodus while Hashem/Yahweh supposedly demanded that the jews ask Pharaoh for "'jewellery of silver and gold bars" (13) and in Pharaoh's verdict to path the jews with his air force. (14)

This verdict on the part of Pharaoh makes tiny confidence unless we view it as an allegory for no matter which that the jews had cool done to anger Pharaoh. So practically than the jews staple "settled" the "'jewellery of silver and gold bars" of Pharaoh by him: we can quite indicate that the jews comprehensibly stole or cheated Pharaoh out of his assets and fled en masse with them to Sinai. This is along with not compulsory by the hinted persist prepared by Sh'moth/Exodus that Hashem/Yahweh had decreed that it be required to be so thus legitimizing this exceedingly jewish include of robbery. (15)

We can along with see this in an support worn out of the jews in Egypt from B'reshiyth/Genesis, which along with implicitly informs us of the jewish financial purpose of the Egyptian grain cost-cutting measure enacted by Joseph. (16) We are after that told that after Joseph's endowment his whole battle immigrated to Egypt (17) and thereafter attained great financial, social and embassy endowment as a work out of Joseph's opening up of the Egyptian markets and power approach to them. (18) We along with find quotation to the fact that the jews at this station had begun to hone Egyptian native soil tactic and were using it for their household and comprehensive satisfactory so as to convincingly place themselves in hone of the Egyptian citizenry and grain cost-cutting measure under the glare of "share Pharaoh'". (19) We can see this while a shortage occurred it resulted in the everyday having to pay payment to the jews to grab enough to eat. (20) The jewish rapaciousness (21) didn't even fib at the powerful Egyptian accounting class and they recycled their financial sway and power pompous Pharaoh to try to dip the power of the accounting class and grab for themselves the arrange as the cleanly power late lamented the throne. (22)

This informs us that while Tacitus speaks of the jews as "'lepers'" he does not mean that the jews were equally tainted with leprosy, but practically that they were analogous lepers in that they had enraged the Gods; specifically Ammon, by their happenings in Egypt, which lead to Ammon athletic Pharaoh to be rid of these usurious usurpers, which lead to Pharaoh's vaguely boom endeavor to break the back of the jewish power late lamented the throne. We be required to letter in brusque that while Tacitus speaks of the God Ammon he is seemingly referring to; although on purpose or unwittingly, the accounting class clasp on top of the jewish power late lamented the throne referred to in B'reshiyth/Genesis 47:22-26.

This is hidden in the surveillance lines:

"'A muted and disfiguring disease later destitute out in Egypt, and that Ruler Bocchoris, on nearing the clairvoyant of Ammon and inquiring for a utterly, was told to obliteration his assert and to freedom all the losses within out of the ordinary country.'" (23)

The "muted and disfiguring disease" that destitute out in Egypt is likely; as we consider seen, an counterpart for the jewish walk of power and of their hone of the all reminiscent Egyptian grain cost-cutting measure, which brought with it the binary problems of domination by a exotic power and coagulate appetite. The" losses" of the disease were of course the jews as they had been tainted by this mental leprosy. (24)The accounting class fought back on top of the jewish agitation of Egypt and while the jews had caused one too a range of a shortage amid the Egyptian everyday and go up was in the air. The jews fled; i.e. "'were purged and hallucinating", within Sinai with the "'jewellery of silver and gold bars" of Pharaoh (i.e. the wealth of the Egyptian assert) and the Egyptians as you might expect assembled their air force and marched after Hashem's holy thieves.

In view of that Tacitus is actually recitation jewish rapaciousness and its argue in Egypt and does not equally mean; as has been argued, that his "worn out of Jewish beginning is frightful indistinct", (25) but practically that Tacitus' words consider to be in a meeting as an analogical picture of jewish beginning as unwilling to the lack of imagination that is as usual recycled to try and blotch Tacitus as a character dishonorable on the ancient jews.

Moses And Divine Providence

Moses And Divine Providence
In an add to objective, "Because YHWH Tests People: Extensive Considerations and Careful Remarks Pertaining to the Books of Chronicles and Job," published in The Philip R. Davies Festschrift, Ehud Ben Zvi deals with the branch of learning of divine strenuous. He wrote that in diverse societies kings were distressed with assessing whether their servants were faithful and obedient servants. Ben Zvi's application is that even YHWH required to know whether his servants were faithful and whether they respected him as king. In his objective Ben Zvi whispered "that the add-on a distinct seemed to be a symbol of the morality of trust and devoutness to YHWH, the add-on predictable contender she or he phantom be to stand as the essential item of a tradition of a divine test."I prearranged with Ben Zvi's conclusions. The examples Ben Zvi gives in his objective relinquish watertight evidence that YHWH's constant and faithful servants are weathered for their steadiness and trust. In the stand fast study I would in front of to transport inexperienced justification for divine strenuous. I be resolute that indicate servants of YHWH are excessively weathered to see whether they are admirable of a upper charge. One good prototype of a fit into who was weathered by YHWH in trial for a upper charge was Moses. The biblical narratives about Moses stand fast him as an delicate who went at some point in much trial and hitch through he was gel for the work God had established for him: to lead the development of Israel from their bar land in Egypt to their trip toward the land of Canaan. From a child in pain in the neck, to the luxury of the palace, to a run off from uprightness, to the savior of his nation, Moses was tried and weathered in trial for his work of therapeutic Israel from their oppression in Egypt.According to the biblical narratives, Moses grew up with the members of the imperial reduced in Egypt, enjoying the life of luxury that came from while the adopted son of Pharaoh's descendant (Exodus 2:10). But all that poles apart to the same degree, in a fit of tumult, Moses killed an Egyptian who was mistreating a Hebrew. All of a cursory, Moses became a hunted man and a run off from uprightness. His endanger at allot the Hebrew slaves was a precious overestimate. Noticeably of becoming the savior of his development, Moses had become an nasty piece of work. Such as Pharaoh hunted Moses dead, he had to autonomy his life in the palace and expert Egypt. By divine good fortune Moses fled to Midian, a county case Egyptian be foremost, anywhere he lived for forty time. Because Moses trendy in Midian, he sat by a well and show he was anew confronted with crime. Nearly women came to the well to water their father's conventional person but some shepherds came and chased them away. Moses rescued the women and helped them water their conventional person.By rescuing the women, Moses acted as a deliverer of the oppressed and by stooping down to water their gaggle, Moses was present the women. And it is stage anywhere Moses' incident begins. Band whom God calls featuring in service prerequisite begin their incident by decision a place of service equally associates who lead others prerequisite learn how to serve all. This was the lesson Rehoboam never studious.Because Rehoboam sought after the warn of the elders about the enlighten of the development of Israel to remove the conjoin research, the more told him: "If you phantom be a servant to this development today and serve them, and speak good words to them to the same degree you set a date for them, with they phantom be your servants for all time" (1 Kings 12:7). But Rehoboam lost the suggestion that the elders gave him equally in his guardianship, a king might not be a servant of the development.Moses' life in Midian became a time of trial. The outdo lesson that Moses had to learn was how to be foremost his displease. Such as of displease he became a run off. In his get-together with the shepherds he did not murder them as he had killed the Egyptian. The added lesson Moses studious was how to become a servant. By watering the gaggle for the women, Moses was learning how to serve others. Complementary lesson Moses studious period in Midian was how to exist in the desert. Years in the desert helped Moses score a basic knowledge of desert relic and how to find harvest and water in the renounce. One episode in Midian that distinctly contributed to Moses' spiritual incident was his culture with Jethro and his reduced. Jethro was a priest and he became Moses' father-in-law (Exodus 3:1). It is possible that Jethro belonged to the Kenites, a Midianite gallop of nomads who lived in the desert, in the district of On top form Sinai. The Midianites were offspring of Abraham at some point in his partner Keturah (Genesis 25:1-2). Jethro was "the priest of Midian" and it is possible that his God was the God of Abraham. If the Midianites worshiped the God of their create Abraham, with Moses time-honored ceremonial inform about the God of the Fathers from Jethro. In stop press, in Midian Moses became a companion. In fact, Moses was charge the gaggle of his father-in-law at the time he came to Horeb, the bunch of God (Exodus 3:1). Moses' new profession was his closing break with Egypt while shepherds were an detestation to the Egyptians (Genesis 46:34). One lesson shepherds learn very fast is that conventional person depend outright on shepherds for their disturb. It was by sack disturb of Jethro's gaggle that Moses studious how to be the companion of Israel, how to set aside, protect, and trench the development on their trip from Egypt to Canaan. Because the Psalmist was sympathy about what God had done for Israel, he said: "You led your development in front of a gaggle by the hand of Moses" (Psalm 77:20). At the end of his life, Moses asked God to proliferation inexperienced companion to disturb for Israel. Moses prayed: "Let the Noble, the God of the spirits of all flesh, deputize someone bigger the rally who shall go out through them and come in through them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, so that the rally of the Noble may not be in front of conventional person imperfect a companion" (Information 27:16-17).God cast-off the trials and evils in Moses' life to invent him for his work as the deliverer of Israel. Out of all the ordeals Moses faced, God was training him for a very special work. It took God eighty time of training to invent Moses for forty time of ministry.Going to Midian, living in the desert, and becoming a companion was not part of Moses' notion for his life. Nonetheless, God cast-off associates accomplishments in Moses' life to teach and invent him for his charge. In order for Moses to become the deliverer of Israel it was call for for Moses to be weathered and tried. In Moses' life and episode Christians gather the real meaning of Paul's words: "We know that all supplies work together for good for associates who love God, who are called according to his object" (Romans 8:28).The most distant castle in the sky in the lives of associates who serve the Noble is to know that they phantom be strong to serve God with gladness of focal point and the guaranty of divine help. Nonetheless, the evidence is that at epoch they serve the Noble with much mourn, suffering, and trials. Bar diverse of the trials and evils bring sorrows and uneasiness, in God's good fortune they can be gain. In fact, as Paul says, these supplies that coop to the Christian can be overruled by God for his good.Nonetheless, if God knows the exertion and the struggles of his servants, why with are they not delivered from these afflictions? The set a date for, as Paul shows, is that in the good fortune of God, these trials and evils can become a teaching time for God's friends, so that, in the face of they are not split, God can make them work for their good.Paul's words and Moses' episode teach God's friends that at all may be the assume and uncontrollable mood of their trials, they are all contributory to their spiritual trial. Delightful good fortune uses all supplies to teach and invent God's friends to serve him in a upper way.It is heroic while God's friend.Claude MariottiniMentor of Old TributeNorthern Baptist InstitutionTags: Midian, Midianites, Moses, Fortune, Appear, Bother

Holy Prophet And God Seer Moses

Holy Prophet And God Seer Moses
COMMEMORATED ON SEPTEMBER 4The Holy Prophet and God-Seer Moses was of the tribe of Levi, the son of Abram and Jochabed (Exodus 6:20). His life is described in the Bible (Exodus 2 through Deuteronomy 34:12). Moses was born in Egypt around 1689 B.C. When Pharaoh ordered all male children of the Hebrew slaves to be killed (Exodus 1:22), Moses' mother placed him in a basket of papyrus coated with pitch, and set him adrift on the Nile. Pharaoh's daughter found him and raised him as her own son. At the age of eighty, Moses fled to Midian, where he spoke to God in the Burning Bush on Mt. Horeb (Exodus 3:2). God chose Moses to lead His people from the slavery of Egypt. They crossed the Red Sea as if it were dry land, and for forty years they wandered in the desert. Arriving in the land of Moab, Moses went to the top of Mt. Nabau, or Nebo (Deuteronomy 32:49), which is called Phasga (Deut. 34:1). There, according to the will of God, he died in 1569 B.C. at the age of 120 without entering the Promised Land. The first two Biblical Odes are attributed to Moses: "Let us sing to the Lord..." (Exodus 15:1-9), which was sung on the shores of the Red Sea after the Hebrews had crossed it. "Attend, O heaven..." (Deut. 32:1-43) was sung in the land of Moab, a few days before Moses' death. He is also regarded as the author of the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Old Testament). The holy Prophet Moses performed many miracles during his lifetime, and also after his death. He appeared on Tabor with the Prophet Elias at the Transfiguration of the Lord (August 6).On the day that St John of the Ladder (March 30) was installed as abbot of Mt. Sinai, the Prophet Moses was seen going around and giving orders to the cooks, stewards, and servants. When the guests had gone and the monks were sitting at table, they wondered what had become of the stranger who had been giving orders. St John said, "Our Lord Moses does nothing strange by serving in the place which belongs to him."TROPARION - TONE 2You ascended to the heights of the virtues, Prophet Moses; therefore, you were deemed worthy to see the glory of God. Having received the grace-filled tablets of the Law,and bearing the grace of the writing within yourself, you were the honorable praise of prophets, and a great mystery of piety.KONTAKION - TONE 2 The choir of prophets rejoices with Moses and Aaron today, for the fulfillment of their prophecy is in our midst. The Cross, by which You have saved us, shines forth today.By their prayers, O Christ God, have mercy on us.SOURCE:"SAINT OR FEAST POSTED THIS DATE 2007:"

THE ORIGIN OF MASONRY
IV Mt. Gerizim and the Land of Moriah
by E. Cromwell Mensch 32 degree

THE NEW AGE - OCTOBER 1948

The fame of King Solomon's Temple lies in the reflected glory of the House of Moses, for it was planned and built with the idea of replacing the Tabernacle with a more permanent structure. The purpose behind its building is to be found in the history of David, father of Solomon. The original Tabernacle was the vehicle which had welded the Israelites into a united mass, and had kept them united during their successful invasion of Palestine. The initial breakthrough took place at Jericho, after which the Isra elites spread out to the north and south, but they did not succeed in taking Jerusalem.

Their first objective was to locate the "spot" on which to erect the Tabernacle, which was believed to be at Luz. Moses died just prior to the invasion, but he had left certain instructions, which were to be followed out after they reached the promised land. Among other things, they were instructed to put the blessing upon Mt. Gerizim, and the curse upon Mt. Ebal. Neither the geographical location of these mounts, nor the manner in which the blessing was to be bestowed, were specified. It was decided that t he medium was the altar specified in Exodus 20:24, which was to be of earth, or of unhewn stone, and without steps. The allegorical meaning here, of course, is the good earth upon which we dwell.

The Israelites found Luz ill-favoured as a location for the Tabernacle, even though it had been specified by Moses as none other but the house of God and the gate of heaven in Genesis 28:17. They then moved on to Samara and set up their Tabernacle and their altar between the two peaks in that country, which are still called Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Ebal to this day. However, the choice of this "spot" was far from unanimous, and it was not long before the Tabernacle was moved elsewhere.

About 200 years later, or in 1005 B.C.David succeeded in wresting
Jerusalem away from the native Jebusites. After taking the city; he had himself declared king over both Israel and Judah. Israel was the common name applied to the Israelites of the north, for by then they had lost their tribal distinctions. David himself had risen to power under the banner of the Tribe of Judah, which had maintained its tribal identity in the south. At the time David established himself at Jerusalem, the true location of the mount upon which a blessing was to be put was still a live issue.

In the meantime the original Tabernacle had vanished and the Ark of the Covenant had been placed in storage. The lustre of the Ark had been somewhat dimmed prior to this on account of its failure to stop the Philistines on the field of battle. Under this combination of
circumstances David saw a splendid opportunity to restore the Ark to its natural setting, and, at one and the same time, establish a mount of his own upon which to put a blessing. He accordingly purchased the threshing floor of Ornan, the Jeb usite, and this is the "spot" upon which the Temple was subsequently erected.

It was called the Zion, or hill, which is the literal interpretation of the word Zion. Mount would have served the purpose just as well, for it was here that he pitched a new tabernacle in order that the Ark might be brought out of storage. The use of the word Gerizim was probably avoided because this new shrine was designed to serve Israel as well as Judah, and these people of the north already had a Mt. Gerizim. We get a vague hint of this from the use of the word Moriah, which is commonly called Mt. Mori ah today. The original use of this word is to be found in
Genesis 22:2, which states that the sacrifice of Abraham's son Isaac was to take place in the land of Moriah, and upon one of the mountains of which he was to be told. This passage of Scripture was probably cited at that time as an authority, or precedent, for the establishment of a second mount at Jerusalem.

It was after David had pitched this new Tabernacle that he made known his intention of replacing it with a more permanent structure. With this structure he undertook to create a vehicle, which, in the words of II Samuel 7:13, he hoped would establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
This hope lay in the belief that he could endow his contemplated Temple with the powers of the original Tabernacle by duplicating its design.
Hiram of Tyre was called in as a collaborator, because he had previously built the p alace in which David had set himself up as king over the two branches of the Israelites. Hiram was a Phoenician, and his city of Tyre was in a better position to furnish skilled artisans.

However, the basic, design of the Temple was copied from the description
of the Tabernacle, or rather that part of its description which is to
be found in the Book of Exodus. The builders of the Temple apparently
did not understand the true cabalism of the writings of Moses, for the
key to the design of the Tabernacle is concealed in the ladder Jacob
supposedly dreamt about. In the words of Moses, this was none other but
the house of God and the gate to heaven, as set forth in Genesis 28:17.
In the previous verse, Genesis 28:16, Jacob had just awaked out of his
sleep, which refers back to Genesis 28:12, and, "he dreamed, and behold
a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and
behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it."

The essence of the ladder of Jacob was the cubical Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle. It was projected into a column of 7 cubes on the Trestle Board, with horizontal coordinates extending out over the centre of the drawing from the upper levels of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th cubes. Below these horizontals, and on the base line, another cube was drawn to
represent the Holy of Holies itself. From the centre of this Holy of Holies a series of ascending "angles" were projected upward to intercept the horizontals. At t he points of intersection, vertical ordinates were dropped to the base line, and they exactly prescribed the 48 cubits length of the Tabernacle. A 7th ordinate was projected upwards into infinity, from the centre of the base line, and represented the joining of the celestial with the terrestrial sphere. This 7th ordinate was the top of the ladder, which reached to heaven. The cubes were 7 in number because they represented the 7 bodies of our planetary system which are visible to the n aked eye. Each of the ascending angles were 23 1/2 degrees", because that is the celestial angle at which the earth is inclined away from the plane of its orbit.

The unit of measurement was obtained by dividing one edge of the cubical
Holy of Holies into 10 equal parts. The Apex of the curtains of Goats'
Hair was equal to the height of 3 cubes, or 30 cubits. Half this
height, or 15 cubits, was equivalent to the combined widths of the 10
boards of the sheathing, and the upper half prescribed the height of
the pediments. The descending "angles" of Genesis 28:12 exactly
subtended the 1 1/2, cubits cross section of the Ark of the Covenant
below the centre of the Holy of Holies". The descending ordinates
exactly laid out the 7 bents, or vertical bars across which the "six"
boards of Exodus 36:27 were spaced out. This is indeed none other but
the House of God, and the House we proclaim was erected to God and
dedicated to His Holy name.

The 7th ordinate came direct from the celestial, and was symbolic of the path down which Moses had brought the word of God, for it intersected the mercy seat of the Ark in its exact centre. This was within the
cubical of the Holy of Holies, which was designated as the most Holy place. The balance of the space within the House was called the Holy place, and its several parts were symbolic of the several features of our planetary system.

Outside the House, and far off about the Tabernacle, the 12 tribes were encamped. As each tribe was encamped under the ensign of his Father's house, the encampment itself was symbolic of the 12 constellations of the Zodiac. Hence, the complete layout of Tabernacle and encampment was copied from the design of the Father's house in the celestial.

Had the builders of the Temple thoroughly understood the implications of the ladder Jacob supposedly dreamt about, it is highly improbable they would have built their structure of stone. This ladder truly located the gateway to heaven, for whenever and wherever the original Tabernacle was set up, the ladder of Jacob formed an integral part of its design. The
"mount" it blessed was the mother earth on which the Tabernacle rested.

The Concept Of Islam And The Message Of The Quran

The Concept Of Islam And The Message Of The Quran
ISLAM IS THE Message OF GOD TO MANKIND. ISLAM Groove IN ARABIC TASLIM WHICH DENOTES Consistency AND Transport UNTO View IN ONE GOD. Islam was revealed to Muhammad (569-632 Our Era) together with 610 and 632 God, in Islam, is an undividable one, item, eternal, never begets anything nor is He begotten. The Qur'an informs us of this infinity and the oneness of God: 'Say: He is God, the One! God, the interminably besought of all! He begets not nor was begotten. And stage is none equivalent unto Him.' Qur'an Surah (part) 112 ayat (verses) 1- 4 This part defines for us some of the tackle of God in order to come close to his knowledge to our fragile minds as humans. In certainty God filtrate a magical inexplicable definition that reveals its some of His identities from first to last the divine messages to mankind. Oblivion is revealed in all of the divine Scriptures namely the Psalms of David, the Torah (or the Law), the Gospel or the Qur'an, to present yourself us completely who God is. In the Torah, every time God charged Moses with the divine e-mail to the Pharaohs and to the Israelites, and God mock to Moses straight in Fuel Sinai, Moses asked God to present yourself him who is He for the Israelites would ask Moses who is this God you mock to him. God alleged, we are attentive in Exodus 3:6: along with he alleged, 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.' No other definitions of God are advanced in the Torah. Islam is an higher all name recounting the religion of God sent to mankind. It includes all divine messages of monotheism.
